Raids conducted by ED on several properties of Dr. Harak Singh Rawat in Delhi, Uttarakhand and Chandigarh
The residences / properties of the former Uttarakhand cabinet minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat who had joined Congress prior to Uttarakhand elections in 2022 from BJP, earlier defecting to BJP from Congress have been raided in Uttarakhand, Delhi and Chandigarh. The former minister is believed to have a house in Green Park in New Delhi. After joining the Congress Dr. Harak Singh Rawat wasn’t given Congress ticket but his beauty queen turned politician daughter in law was given ticket by Congress high command who too had lost from Lansdowne assembly constituency. There are reports about linkages of these raids to Corbett National tiger reserves financial irregularities etc while he was the forest minister of Uttarakhand. Dr. Harak Singh Rawat infamous for changing sides has been to Congress, BSP, BJP and back to Congress during his more than three decades old political career, these days having not very good political relationship with leaders in Congress too as he being tainted the latter are keeping distance from him. The former chief minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat too is facing CBI probe with regard to the sting operation carried out against him at Holly Grant Airport in 2017 while he was the chief minister of Uttarakhand and his government in jeopardy due to the several leaders i. e. Lawmakers joining the BJP many of whom are ministers in the state government.
