Rahul Gandhi termed the budget as : A band aid for bullet wounds
There has been a mixed reaction of the budget announced by the finance minister Dr. Nirmala Sitaraman. The prime minister Narendra Modi praised the budget to the hilt saying that it will add momentum towards our collective resolve of building a Viksit Bharat! The #ViksitBharatBudget2025 reflects our Government’s commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of 140 crore Indians. The Congress leader and leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi was very critical of the budget terming it as a band aid for bullet wounds. In a tweet in X leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi termed the budget as a band-aid for bullet wounds adding further that amid global uncertainty, solving our economic crisis demanded a paradigm shift. But this government is bankrupt of ideas wrote Rahul Gandhi on X. The veteran Congress leader and its chief, leader of Rajya Sabha Malliarjun Kharge criticizing the budget said that the entire country is struggling with the problem of inflation and unemployment but the Modi government is bent if garnering false praises. He wrote on X in a lengthy post : One proverb perfectly suits this budget – after eating nine hundred rats, the cat went to Hajj!
In the last 10 years, the Modi government has collected ₹ 54.18 lakh crores of income tax from the middle class, and now the exemption of up to 12 lakhs is being given, according to which the Finance Minister herself is saying that there will be a saving of ₹ 80,000 per year. That is, only ₹ 6,666 per month!
The whole country is struggling with the problem of inflation and unemployment, but the Modi government is bent on garnering false praises.
In this “announcement-making” budget, Make in India has been made the National Manufacturing Mission to hide its flaws. All other announcements are almost like this.
🔻 There is nothing for the youth.
🔻 Modi ji had promised yesterday that he would take a big step for the empowerment of women in this budget, but nothing like that happened in the budget.
🔻 No roadmap to double farmers’ income; no concession in GST rates on agricultural inputs.
🔻 There is no plan for health, education or scholarship for Dalit, tribal, backward class, poor and minority children.
🔻 There are no reform measures to increase private investment.
🔻 Their failures have been hidden by saying a few superficial things on export and tariff.
🔻 Nothing has been done to increase the income of the poor.
🔻 Not a single step has been taken to address the continuously falling consumption.
🔻 Despite skyrocketing inflation, the budget of MGNREGA remains the same. Nothing has been done to increase the income of workers.
🔻 There is no mention of any reform in the Multiple Rates of GST.
🔻 To reduce unemployment, there was no talk of creating jobs.
🔻 Startup India, Standup India, Skill India all the schemes turned out to be mere announcements.
Overall this #Budget2025 is an attempt by the Modi Government to fool the people.
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal while reacting to the budget strongly criticized the BJP government for waiving off the loans of multi millionaires at the cost of public exchequer saying that the Budget should announce that there win be any waiving iff if such huge loans if the ultra rich.
