Rahul Gandhi urged Speaker to free the journalists from the cage while speaking in Lok sabha. Cancels visit to Wayanad due to inclement weather and heavy rains !

The Congress leader and leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi had yesterday raised a question in Parliament when he was speaking on on burning issues like Wayanad ecological catastrophe in which more than 100 people had died n hundreds injured and subsequent tragic deaths. He also emphatically raised the issue of the journalists and photo journalists highlighting their plight for being caged in a glass enclosure urging the speaker Om Birla who was on the chair to kindly free them out of the cage. Kindly recall that that the photo and video journalists and journalists were yesterday packed in a glass enclosure not allowed to move in the parliament precincts. The journalists and videographers including the photo journalists had been on silent protest for the while day on Tuesday. The leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi and the Samajwadi leader, MP and former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav and his wife, Lok Sabha MP Dimple Yadav also came to the glass enclosure where the journalists and video journalists were asked to relax but not allowed to move around and interact with the members of parliament. Both the leaders and SP MP expressed their solidarity with the protesting journalists. The journalists, cameramen and video journalists were on silent protest at the parliament House glass box outside the parliament building against the government’s decision restricting their movement inside the parliament precincts not allowing them to meet the party leaders and various members of parliament. Meanwhile, while speaking in the house on Budget 2024 Rahul Gandhi expressed his ire against the ruling party government saying that in the Amritkaal of Narendra Modi, the ’empty pockets’ of common Indians are also being extracted. The government that waived off Rs 16 lakh crore of its industrialists has collected Rs 8,500 crore from poor Indians who are unable to maintain even the minimum balance. The ‘penalty system’ is the door of Modi’s Chakravyuh through which an attempt is being made to break the back of the common Indian. But remember, the people of India are not Abhimanyu, they are Arjun, they know how to answer your every atrocity by breaking the Chakravyuh said Rahul Gandhi. The Leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi were to leave for Wayanad to meet the affected bereaved families and assess the damage due to the massive ecological disaster but have to cancel the pre scheduled visit due to excessive rains and inclement weather conditions. Rahul wrote on his social media handle X : Priyanka and I were scheduled to visit Wayanad tomorrow to meet with families affected by the landslide and take stock of the situation. However, due to incessant rains and adverse weather conditions we have been informed by authorities that we will not be able to land. I want to assure the people of Wayanad that we will visit as soon as possible. In the meantime, we will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide all necessary assistance. Our thoughts are with the people of Wayanad at this difficult time. Kindly recall that Rahul Gandhi had been the lok sabha MP from Wayanad twice but had resigned this year to retain the Rae Bareilly seat earlier held by his mother, a traditional seat of Rahul’s grandmother Indira Gandhi. The then PM Indira Gandhi ‘s election was held null n void by the then Allahabad High Court chief justice Jagmohan Lal Sinha compelling Indira Gandhi impose emergency in the country termed as draconian by the entire opposition. Now, Priyanka Gandhi has announced to contest from Wayanad after Rahul left this seat.
