Rahul Gandhi being grilled for the third consecutive day at ED headquarter. Several leaders court arrest today as well
Wednesday, is the third day of former Congress president Rahul Gandhi who is being grilled by the Enforcement Directorate officials.
On Monday and Thursday Rahul Gandhi faced several trivial questions of the senior ED officials from morning till night for about eleven hours.
Rahul was seen off till the Delhi ED office sitiated at central Delhi Abdul Kalam Azad Road by his sister, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi in a money laundering case under the PMLA act pertaining to the National Herald matter.
Priyanka Gandhi had already confronted the questions of ED officers earlier and her mother Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who is admitted in Ganga Ram Hospital due to her being infected with Covid 19 has been summoned by ED on 23 rd June , her earlier date being 8 the and 13 th June respectively, postponed due her being infected with Covid.
Today is Rahul Gandhi’s third day of intense gruelling with Congress leader literary fed up asking them to question him once for all, as the Congress workers are badly suffering and his mother too not in good health admitted in a hospital.
Rahul meet his mother during the break in between the investigations revealed sources.
Meanwhile, the chief ministers of two Congress ruled states Rajasthan and Chattisgarh Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel are in Delhi.
The protest demonstrations were held for the third day today outside the ED office with vociferous Congress protestors burning the tires on the road and raising anti government slogans.
They are protesting against the alleged harassment of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia as well as Priyanka on false charges.
Several Congress leaders courted arrests today as well viz Deependra Hooda, MP, Delhi president Anil Chowdhary, IYC national chief B. V. Sriniwas, MPs Mannikkam Tagore, A Sella Kumar, Amar Singh, Jai Kumar, Vijay, Vasant etc including several IYC activists and office bearers.
Yesterday and day before Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat , Randeep Singh Surjewala and several leaders had courted arrests and were detained at Tuglak road police station for several hours.
Meanwhile, prohibitory orders have also been imposed outside 24 Akbar Road in order to avoid Congress leaders and activists assemble there, fearing demonstrations and protests.
Kindly recall that the case was originally filed by the BJP leader Dr Subramaniam Swamy against Gandhi family pertaining to Young India and Associated Journals Limited, National Herald with regard to money laundering by way of various unlawful clandestine means.
The case names’ Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, late Moti Lal Vohra, late Oscar Fernandiz, Sam Pitroda and Suman Dubey.
On December, 2015 Sonia, Rahul n others got bail.
After taking suo moto of the sensitive case the ED had summoned Sonia and Rahul for intense questioning under various sections of Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
