Yesterday, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi met a delegation of employees from 7 ordinance factories of India in Parliament House where he understood their problems in depth.
These employees are being hired as Agniveer on tenure basis. There are 511 posts for skilled employees in Itarsi Ordnance Factory alone, out of which 500 are vacant, but still these new recruits have not been included in those posts.
And moreover, they do not even have the right to raise their voice publicly – this is even included in their contract. The same work is being done which is done by permanent employees but the same facilities have been snatched away through such contracts.
The whole thing is so that they can be deprived of many government facilities, they can be kept employed temporarily and when the opportunity comes, they can be easily fired.
The country and the government have a responsibility towards these youth who work day and night with full patriotism and with all their heart and soul for the security of India. Their future should be secured, their families should be taken care of – they should be given economic and social security.
LOP Rahul Gandhi assured the members of the delegation that he stands strongly against this discrimination and will raise their voice with all his might – and will make it reach the ears of the government.
