Rahul Gandhi and Congress MPs forcibly arrested while marching to Rashtrapati Bhawan !
Several Congress leaders n member of parliament led by the former Congress president and Waynad MP Rahul Gandhi were today forcibly arrested at Vijay Chowk and not allowed to march to President House in protest against the incessant questioning of the Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged money laundering case related to the National Herald , Young India and Associated Journals’ Imbroglio. The former Congress, president Rahul Gandhi, several MPs and leaders including Jairam Ramesh and Indian Youth Congress chief Sriniwas BV n hundreds of youth Congress activists led by the Congress MP n former party chief Rahul Gandhi marched towards the President House in a protest raising anti government slogans accusing the BJP led NDA government of selectively targetting the Congress leaders especially Nehru Gandhi family misusing CBI, ED and Income Tax department. Today’s protest was especially against Congress party’s interim president Sonia Gandhi’s arbitrary questioning by the ED in the National Herald money laundering case.
The Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, party MPs including Jairam Ramesh and Youth Congress national chief Sriniwas BV n several IYC activists were not allowed to march ahead to Rashtrapati Bhawan and forcibly arrested made to sit in buses. The Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and several MPs were registering their protest against the misuse of ED, CBI and IT and arbitrary questioning of their leader Sonia Gandhi. While courting arrest Rahul Gandhi squatted on the road with the police having a tough time dealing with him and protesting MPs. After forcibly arresting Rahul Gandhi and other MPs Rahul tweeted in Hindi : See the dictatorship. We can’t even protest peacefully, can’t discuss on unemployment and inflation. Can you stop us, after misusing the police and agencies and arresting us . The truth will finally finish this dictatorship tweeted Rahul. He continued with another tweet writing : The king of the country has issued orders – those who will raise their voice against unemployment, wrong GST, questions of Agnipath – sent them to prisons! Though I am in custody now, n raising of voice by the people is a crime in the country, but they won’t be able to suppress our morale tweeted Rahul Gandhi. The Congress MP n spokesman Jairam Ramesh also tweeted : All the Congress MPs stopped at Vijay Chowk and prevented from marching to Rashtrapati Bhawan. Forcibly arrested, now we are in buses being taken to the place only PM and HM knows.
In the morning after being questioned for 2 and a half hours Sonia Gandhi was permitted for lunch and after lunch she had again joined the investigation at the Enforcement Directorate office in New Delhi.
