Rahul and Priyanka slam the Agnipath Scheme of employment. Rahul says : The scheme reduces the operational effectiveness of Armed Forces.
The former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and general secretary of All India Congress Committee Priyanka Gandhi have in separate tweets slammed the BJP led NDA government for introducing the Agniveer Scheme ( Indian Army Agnipeeth Scheme) of employment to the youth in Indian Armed Forces for the period of four years.
The Union cabinet had passed the resolution in this regard to open employment avenues for 40000 youths in the first year for the period of four years starting with Rs 30000 monthly salary for first year followed by Rs 40000 in the second year and thereafter 50000. About twenty five percent of the recruits in the age of 17.5 years to 21 will be recruited on permanent basis for twelve years further and 75 % will be relieved paying them about Rs 12 lakhs and certificates of commendation etc after four years service. The Union defence minister had yesterday made this announcement officially.
The former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has slammed the decision of the Union Government tweeting : When India faces threats on two fronts, the uncalled for Agnipath scheme reduces the operational effectiveness of our Armed forces. The BJP government must stop compromising the dignity, traditions, valour and descipline of our forces tweeted Rahul Gandhi.
Regarding announcing ten lakh jobs by the prime minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi further termed the government as the government of huge rhetorics in a hindi tweet : Rahul Gandhi tweeted : The way youths of the country were given the ” jhansa” Of two crores jobs every year , the same way is the turn of ten lakh government jobs adding that this is not the government of Rhetoric but of massive Rhetorics. Prime minister Sir is not expert in employment generation but on making news out of them tweeted former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi who was summoned to ED office for the third consecutive day on Wednesday. Meanwhile, his sister and general secretary of All India Congress Committee Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also criticised the NDA government charging the BJP govt of making Army a laboratory of employment, considering the jobs of army men a burden on them. She tweeted in hindi asking a question : Why is the BJP government making employment in Army their laboratory? The government is finding the jobs of Army men a burden. The youths are saying that the rule for four years’ employment is a betrayal. Even our ex servicemen are opposed to this proposal. There had been no serious discussions or thinking on this serious issue. Only arbitrariness tweeted Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi.
It may be recalled that Agniveers will be given an attractive customised monthly package along with Risk and Hardship allowances as applicable in the three services. On completion of the engagement period of four years, Agniveers will be paid one time ‘Seva Nidhi’ package which shall comprise their contribution including accrued interest thereon and matching contribution from the Government equal to the accumulated amount of their contribution including interest. Their first year salary would be Rs 30000, 2nd year Rs 33000, 3 rd year 36500 and fourth year Rs 40000. Out of this, the recruits will receive seventy percent of the salary while thirty percent will go in Agneevir Corpus Fund which will come to Rs 5.02 after four yrs. After the exit from service after four years Rs 11.71 lakh will be paid to them as Sewa Nidhi.
