PROMINENT DEITY DHARI DEVI TO BE SHIFTED TO NEW TEMPLE WORTH RS 25 CRORES AT KALYASAUD, SRINAGAR, GARHWAL

The ancient deity of Garhwal Uttarakhand also considered to be the fifth prominent Dham though unofficially, after Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, pious Dhari Devi is to be formally shifted to a newly completed colourful temple on the elevated place of the original temple of deity at Kalyasaud, few kilometres away from Srinagar Garhwal on way to historic Kedarnath Nath, Badrinath temples, Hemkunth Sahib and JOSHIMATH.

This magnificent temple has been constructed by the Reddy brothers from Hyderabad, the owners of the huge Dam ( Hydropower Electric Project) at Srikot, Srinagar Garhwal generating 330 ME built on Alaknanda River after the original Dhari Devi temple was submerged in the dam water.

It is believed that the day this pious temple was submerged in the Dam and Deity Dhari Deviji safe fully evacuated to an alternate site at the elevated temple temporarily by the priests, there was immense ecological disaster at Kedarnath Dham and its surroundings on June 16 with Gandhi Sarovar lake bursting due to excessive rains n massive cloud bursts killing thousands of people and tremendous destruction to properties by the massive flash floods.

Priests and people say that this was the wrath of the deity Dhari Devi for being displaced from her ancient pious place of existence where millions of people had been paying obeisance to her.

It was after this fury of the deity that the owner of this 330 megawatt electricity generating hydropower project, the Reddy brothers of Hyderabad sought apologies from God and constructed a magnificent temple worth Rs 25 crores which took over 8 to 9 years to complete and pledged to respectfully shift the Goddess Dhari Devi to its, news destination several metres above the same place where the original Temple existed earlier.

According to the latest authentic information Goddess Dhari Devi will be shifted on 28 th of January and the spiritual processes and bhajan kirtans etc have commenced from 22 nd January. Dhari Devi is considered to be a popular SIDHPEETH where millions of disciples and devotees from all over India n even from abroad come here to pay they obeisance and get their wishes duly fulfilled. It is believed that this deity changes its facial expressiins (moods) two three times a day.
