Prolific writer and former Director of NDMC Madan Thapliyal passes away. RIP

There is an extremely shocking news coming in about the sudden passing away of the former Director of New Delhi Municipal Council and a vivacious reader and prolific writer Shri. Madan Mohan Thapliyal sending shock wave among his family, friends and Uttarakhand community in Delhi and, NCR.

He died this morning at his residence. Late Madan Mohan Thapliyal served in NDMC from from 1996 to 2006 for a decade or so and retired as Director Public Relations but continued writing books, poems and plays. He also used to visit Press Club and interacted with friends.

An affable natured, soft spoken gentlemen to the core Madan Mohan Thapliyal had several important books to his credit including poetry collections namely

KALIKA (1962), HUNKAR (1965), SAATHI (2004), CHILDREN SHORT STORIES:
BURAI KA ANT (1988), BEWKOOFOUN KA GAON (1988), PURIA DILLI DURBAR MAIN
, PAHADOUN SE JUDI YADAIN (1913). His research works included NAI DILLI- DILLI KA AATHWAN SHAHAR (2011), RAJDHANI EK SADI KA SAFAR (2012), DASTAN-E-GARHWAL (2014), VYWAHARIK JANSAMPARK (in the press). He also wrote several interesting and impactful historic dramas such as
1. PURIYA NAITHANI (1965)
2. NATAK BAND KARO (STAGED IN 1979) GARHWALI ADOPTION OF KASHMIRI PLAY (STILL TO BE PUBLISHED ). In addition to these important contributions his other published works included POEMS, ARTICLES IN WELL REPUTED BOOKS, MAGAZINES AND NEWS PAPERS INCLUDING ELECTRONIC MEDIA. Madan Thapliyal was post graduate from Meerut university and did his MA journalism from Himachal Pradesh university. He completed his literature and Public Relations studies from Rajasthan university. Highly revered among his fraternity of intellectuals he was also loved by all in Uttarakhand community having also written and enacted several plays.
