The Congress general secretary, incharge Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi has today added a new fervour and enthusiasm among the Congress workers and leaders, especially after two massively attended public meetings of prime minister Narendra Modi at Dehradun and Haldwani and hectic campaigning by union Minister Amit Shah, BJP chief JP Nadda and union highways minister Nitin Gadkari as well as leaders of AAP including Delhi CM Kejriwal n deputy CM Manish Sisodia.
After only one public meeting of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and scores of meetings, door to door campaign n road shows of senior BJP leaders in Uttarakhand including unstoppable campaign of the present CM Pushkar Singh Dhami making more than 500 announcements worth thousand of crores and BJP n its trained workers explicitly active in social media in their game of alleged hindu muslim divide, the visit of charismatic leader Priyanka Gandhi to Uttarakhand was inevitable.
The Wednesday’s visit of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi at Dehradun, postponed earlier due for Jan 9 th at Srinagar Garhwal and Almora, due to Covid pandemic, has been quite a successful event from where she virtually addressed a public meeting connected with the people of seventy assembly constituencies of Uttarakhand.
Enthusiastic Congress leader Harish Rawat n his daughter Anupama Rawat welcomed their leader with a trophy and a shawl with Nav Prabhat, former forest minister of Uttarakhand moderating the show.
She also released the Uttarakhand Congress election menifesto on this ocassion with Harish Rawat, Devendra Yadav, Pritam Singh and Ganesh Godiyal also displaying the menifesto booklet titled “Uttarakhandi Swabhiman ghoshnapatra ( Pratigya) “.
Addressing the massively attended public meeting at Dehradun virtually connected with seventy assembly constituencies of Uttarakhand Priyanka Gandhi said that her family has special bonding with Uttarakhand, especially Dehradun as her father, uncle, brother, she herself n her son had studied at Doon school and the entire family highly impressed and enthused by the mesmerising beuty of the Uttarakhand hills.
Criticizing the BJP led government for not clearing the suger cane dues of farmers worth 14000 crores Priyanka Gandhi said that the prime minister has bought two helicopters for himself worth Rs 16000 crores but the farmers dues of sugarcane less than the amount of choppers purchased could not be paid to the distressed farmers.
She criticized the BJP government of literally doing nothing but misusing the money of public exchequer.
Ridiculing the double engine governments of BJP in Delhi n Uttarakhand, Priyanka Gandhi said that after increasing the price of petrol n diesal above Rs 100 a litre and domestic gas to Rs 1000 its double engine itself has become defunct.
Criticizing the BJP Uttarakhand government for making countless fake announcements with not a single work having been done on the ground, after paying her obeisance to Lord Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi said that during the last five years, the saffron party government has not done a single work, thus not coming true to people’s expectation.
She catagorically said that the Uttarakhand government has failed on controlling inflation, employment, empowerment of women, health and education front with the states’ farmers, youths, women, students, small businessman, and people of the backward n dalit communities.
They divided the people on religious lines creating animosity in the society and exploiting their political agenda said Priyanka Gandhi.
She added that on the contrary, the Congress party wants to serve the people of the state honestly with dedication, taking them to new developmental heights.
Talking about the commitment of Congress government she repeated the instance of its Chattisgarh government where after three hours of swearing in by its chief minister the farm loans of the farmers worth thousands of crires of Rupees as promised during election were waived off said Priyanka Gandhi.
In a tweet after releasing the Uttarakhand Congress menifesto and addressing the virtual public meeting Priyanka Gandhi wrote : The Congress party menifesto takes the pledge to provide employment, quality health services, education, security of income, and giving relief from inflation to the people of Uttarakhand. With the Uttarakhand inhabitants “Swabhiman is the pro Congress wave to fovrm the next government flowing said Priyanka Gandhi.
She promised that if the Congress government comes to power in Uttarakhand it promises to bring down inflation, improve health services, will provide employment and improve the lot of the women community especially bringing down the rate of cylinder to Rs 500 by giving financial support or subsidy whatever will be possible.
The Congress leader also strongly criticized the BJP government’s budget terming it as anti poor, anti women and anti middle class with no relief to any section of the society.
Priyanka Gandhi this morning came to Jollygrant airport where she was welcome by senior Congress leaders who escorted her to the public meeting venue at Luxuriant farm at Canal Road, Dehradun.
The former Congress CM Harish Rawat, Pritam Singh, leader of the opposition and state president Ganesh Godiyal also spoke on this ocassion.
