Priyanka asks PM Modi why is the minister’s son not arrested till yet ? But we’ve been arrested ! Come to Lakhimpur and share the farmers’ grief asks Congress leader
The Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi has been booked today for violating prohibitory orders in Sitapur along with MP Deependra Hooda and Congress leader Ajay Lallu. Priyanka has been lodged at the PAC Guest House where she was shown in television channels sweeping the floor. Priyanka Gandhi was taken into preventive custody in Sitapur yesterday without lodging of any FIRand lodged for twenty hours finally arresting her today officially. Earlier, infuriated Priyanka Gandhi had heated arguments with police officers questioning them about her crime and asked why she is not being allowed to go ahead and taken into custody arbitrarily.
She had asked : Is it a crime to wipe the tears of the members of the bereaved families of farmers who had been killed by a vehicle in which the son of a union minister was sitting.
She had asked to take punitive action against the culprits instead of taking action against them who are going to meet the families of dead farmers to wipe their tears.
Meanwhile, the chief minister of Chattisgarh Bhupesh Singh Baghel who was not allowed to move ahead from Lucknow airport sat on Dharna, there, itself in protest.
The former finance minister and senior Congress leader P.Chidambaram has also termed the arrest of Priyanka Gandhi as totally illegal saying that there is literally no rule of law in UP.
The anguished and deeply hurt Congress general secretary after the shocking tragedy of eight farmers in Lakhimpur Kheeri has posted a video on her Twitter questioning the prime minister Narendra Modi on the tragedy of Lakhimpur and asked him to visit here, instead of going to Lucknow for the inauguration of Amrut Utsav.
Showing the video of the vehicle ramming in a group where the farmers were walking, grievously injuring and killing them, she asked why has no action been taken against the son of the minister who is Scott free even today but leaders like us without any FIR have been arrested, arbitrarily.
She asked I want to know why is this man not arrested till yet ? Today when you will be sitting on the stage of the India’s Independence’s Amrut Mahotsav, please remember that we got Azaadi because of these Farmers. On our borders also we are being protected by the sons of these Farmers. The farmers, anndatas of the country are struggling for last several months, raising their voice and you are silent. I appeal to you why don’t you come to Lakhimpur Kheeri, hear to the anguished farmers, the true soul of this country and their grievances n pain. It is your bounden duty to protect them, in the constitutional Shapath ( swearing in) you have taken. In the video Priyanka Gandhi also questioned as why not the union state minister has been sacked till yet.
