Prime minister Narendra Modi today expressed his deepest condolences on the sad demise of legendary commentator Brigadier Chitranjan Sawant sending a personal letter of condolence to his journalist son working with a news channel as its news anchor namely Gaurav Samant. Writing from the Camp office Chennai where PM Narendra Modi has gone to address the party public meeting in connection with the campaigning in general elections in favour of his party, he wrote that the news of sad demise of Brigadier Chitranjan Sawant VSM ( Retired) has left him with a sense of grief and sadness expressing his grief and heartfelt condolences to the Sawantt family in this hour of intense grief. Terming Brigadier Sawant as a multifaceted personality and unforgettable sonorous voice, Prime minister Modi wrote that for many decades Chitranjan Sawant’s voice remained synonymous with the Republic Day Parade and other ceremonies related to the armed forces. The deep sense of patriotism and national pride that could be felt in his voice and vast knowledge of the traditions of our armed forces, strategic and military affairs that his words encapsulated left everyone spell bound write the PM while lauding this great icon. Lauding him as an outstanding filmmaker and an author Prime minister wrote that a multidimensional personality Brigadier Sawant was not only a decorated Army officer had also made a mark as an advocate , filmmaker and author. His deep interest in spirituality remained and important guiding light in all his endeavours. Terming his passing away as a huge loss to family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him PM Narendra Modi wrote Brigadier will always remain in our memories, extending his deepest condolences to the bereaved family praying to Almighty to give the family tremendous strength and resilience to navigate them through this profound loss.
