Prime minister Narendra Modi files nomination papers from Varanasi
Prime minister Narendra Modi has filed his nomination papers from Varanasi parliamentary constituency from where is is contesting for the third time. He has been the sitting MP from here twice. Yesterday in prime minister’s road show there were thousands of people of Varanasi raising slogans hailing him and raising their hands towards prime minister Modi assuring him of their wholehearted support and blessings. He was accompanied on the open vehicle by the firebrand chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath holding the Lotus symbol pointing towards the crowds seeking their support. This will be the third time victory for prime minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi where he is credited for implementing various developmental projects including making a modern temple corridor and changing the face of Varanasi spiritual township. Varanasi is the ancient Lord Shiva’s land. Several chief ministers, union ministers and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath was present at the time of filing of nomination with hundreds of people around to have prime minister’s glimpse. Before filing the nomination prime minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at the Dashwamegh Ghat. He also prayed at Bhairav Temple and from there went to the collectorate to file his nomination papers. There were four proposers of PM Modi namely Pandit Yamkeshwar Shastri, Baijnath Patel, Lal Chand Khushwaha and Sanjay Sonkar. Usually for nomination of VIP candidates from registered political parties five proposers and for ordinary candidates ten proposers are required. The union home minister Amit Shah, Defence minister Rajnath Singh, UP chief minister Yogi Aditya Nath , party chiefs of BJP and NDA were also present on this occassion. BJP’s ally in the NDA, Rashtriya Lok Dal President Jayant Chaudhary, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan, Apna Dal (S) President Anupriya Patel and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (Subhaspa) President Om Prakash Rajbhar were also present on this occassion.
