The President , Prime minister, union home minister , leader of the opposition , Congress party chief and several politicians have strongly condemned the dastardly shameful act of the terrorists in Pahalgam , Jammu and Kashmir where according to the latest revelations twenty eight persons have been brutally killed and half a dozen injured by the terrorists today.

While the prime minister is abroad in Jeddah and condemned this tragic dastardly act from abroad he directed the union home minister Amit Shah to leave for Pahalgam and asses the situation from close quarters including applying balm to the wounds of the bereaved families.
The home minister Amit Shah has reached Kashmir and Pahalgam to take stock of the situation personally. The prime minister has in his message of condemnation categorically warned that those responsible for this dastardly act will not be spared at any cost.
According to the latest news this dastardly attack by unidentified terrorists has occured in Pahalgaon, in Anantnag district of South Kashmir’s Baisaram meadows about 85 kilometres away from capital Srinagar.
There are no fixed account of the deads but it is believed that the terrorists fired in the tourists with a confirmed killing of 28 persons as per the news report and half a dozen injured, some grievously.
The militant group “Kashmir Resistance” has claimed responsibility for the attack, citing opposition to the settlement of outsiders in the region. Security forces have launched operations to apprehend the perpetrators .
There have been major renewed heightened security measures revived in the entire state especially in the militant infested districts with initiatives taken for the security of the residents, tourists and the general public alike. This gruesome terrorist attack reminiscences of the earlier attacks in the strife torn Kashmir killing thousands of civilians and security forces Hawans and officers since the last several decades.
The Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah who have reached by now from Delhi to the affected area had earlier wrote on X : I’m shocked beyond belief. This attack on our visitors is an abomination. The perpetrators of this attack are animals, inhuman & worthy of contempt. No words of condemnation are enough. I send my sympathies to the families of the deceased. I’ve spoken to my colleague

I’ll be flying back to Srinagar immediately. # adding further in another message on X : The death toll is still being ascertained so I don’t want to get in to those details. They will be officially conveyed as the situation becomes clearer. Needless to say this attack is much larger than anything we’ve seen directed at civilians in recent years.
The president of India Draupadi Murmu while expressing her serious concern and deepest condolences wrote on X :
The terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir is shocking and painful. It is a dastardly and inhuman act which must be condemned unequivocally.
Attacking innocent citizens , tourists , in this case is utterly appalling and unpardonable.
My heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their dear ones and my prayers for the quick recovery of the injured said the President Draupadi Murmu while expressing her grief over this shameful dastardly act.
The prime minister Narendra Modi who was Jeddah at the time of this mishappening expressed his serious condemnation , concern and condolences towards the killings writing in X :
I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected. Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice…they will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. The Congress leader and LOP Rahul Gandhi while expressing his serious concern said that the government which claims to be things alright in Kashmir shall now take the accountability for these dastardly killings in Pahalgam, Kashmir writing in X : The news of the death of tourists and injuries to many in the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir is extremely condemnable and heartbreaking.
I express my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and hope for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The whole country is united against terrorism. Instead of making hollow claims of the situation being normal in Jammu and Kashmir, the government should now take accountability and take concrete steps so that such barbaric incidents do not happen in the future and innocent Indians do not lose their lives like this said Rahul Gandhi.
The Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge said that the entire nation is together to unitedly fight this scourge of terrorism strongly condemning this act. He wrote on X :
I strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. The entire nation is united in fighting the scourge of cross-border terrorism.
These dastardly targeted attacks are a blot on humanity. News reports indicate that precious lives have been lost.
On behalf of the Congress party, my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured.
India’s National Security is paramount and we urge the GOI to take corrective measures to ensure the same said Mallikarjun Kharge.
