President, PM , LOP and others congratulate the Indian team for their outstanding World Cup T-20 victory
The Indian Cricket team on Sunday registered a historic victory for the third consecutive time winning the world cup in T20 cricket final compitition at Narendra Modi stadium in Gujarat defeating the nearest rival New Zealand in the presence of thousands of fans with entire country in a jubilant mode.
The president , prime minister, leader of the opposition , Congress chief and several union ministers congratulated the Indian team heartily and lauded their dedicated efforts by bringing home the World Cup trophy after tremendous challenging compition.
The president Draupadi Murmu on her X handle while heartily congratulating the Indian cricket team on their historic victory said that team India which scaled several peaks of history by winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup emphatically has the proud distinction of being the only team India to win the cup three times. It is also the only team to win the cup twice in a row. This brings immense joy and pride to our cricket loving people. It is also a marker of the rich talent pool we have among our youth in diverse fields.
Every single player, entire management and the support staff deserve the highest praise for this collective triumph. I wish our cricket team sustained glory in the future said President Draupadi Murmu through her congratulatory message on X.

It may be recalled that the dedicated Indian Cricket team led by its captain Surya Kumar Yadav and by the exemplary cricketing performances of Bowler Bumrah and batsmen Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan have defeated the Newzealand by 96 runs winning the T20 World Cup for the third time in the row and the world cup under the then captain Kapil Deo being in 1983 which was India’s first International World Cup, which brings The total world cup tropies to four. The victory ensured that the Indian T 20 team has been credited for being the first team tk defend their T-20 World Cup title, the first to triumph at a home championship and the first to win the three T20 Titles.
