Prem Sharma is the only Garhwali, Uttarakhand candidate in Congress list contesting from Hari Nagar constituency

The Congress party has given to ticket to a single candidate Prem Ballabh ( Prem Sharma) from Hari Nagar legislative assembly of Garhwal, Uttarakhand origin.

The Congress general secretary and former union minister of state for housing Ajay Makan has been instrumental in getting Congress ticket to Prem Sharma, a dedicated Congress activist from Hari Nagar who is by profession a dealer in furniture, furnishings with his showroom in Trinagar.

Prem Sharma has been active in Delhi Congress politics representing Hari Nagar constituency establishing personal contact with the local electorates of the legislative constituency.

A soft spoken, and of affable nature Prem Sharma have been extremely active in parliamentary and legislative elections in the past in Delhi too.

The Uttarakhand community in Delhi is extremely happy to see Prem Sharma as a Congress candidate from Hari Nagar constituency.

Sharma originally hails from Garhwal Uttarakhand based in Hari Nagar , Delhi. Hari Nagar is primarily a Punjabi dominated seat and Prem Sharma has good contacts with the Punjabi community including people from other communities. Prem Ballabh aka Prem Sharma has today filed his nomination papers with his supporters wearing garlands thanking one and all.

It may be recalled that Aam Admi Party has fielded Raj Kumari Dillon from Hari Nagar whereas the BJP candidate is Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly Elections, Raj Kumari Dhillon from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won the seat by securing 58,087 votes. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate, Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, received 37,956 votes, while Surinder Kumar Setia from the Indian National Congress garnered 10,394 votes.In the 2015 Delhi Assembly Elections, AAP’s Jagdeep Singh won the constituency with 65,814 votes. Avtar Singh Hit from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) received 39,318 votes, and Congress candidate Chander Prakash secured 6,221 votes. It may be recalled that while BJP has given two tickets to Uttarakhandis from Patparganj and Mustafabad to Ravi Negi and Mohan Singh Bisht five term MLA , AAP has given no ticket to any Uttarakhandis.
