Sahaspur seat goes to MLA Sehdev Pundir despite best try of Pramod Raturi.Ten sitting BJP MLAs denied tickets
The tickets of 59 assembly constituencies in Uttarakhand have been declared with ten sitting MLAs losing their seats this time which include Ritu Khanduri from Yamkeshwar, daughter of former Uttarakhand CM Ritu Khanduri, Pranav Champion from Khanpur and Mahesh Negi from Dwarhat who defeated former MLA and president of former president of Delhi University Students Union Madan Singh Bisht. Pranav Champion and Mahesh Negi had been in controversy bringing bad name to the parth say sources.
Other MLAs denied tickets this time are Tharali MLA Magan Lal Shah, Karnprayag MLA Surendra Singh Negi and Pauri MLA Mukesh Singh Koli. Other sitting lawmakers denied tickets were Meena Gangola, MLA from Gangolihat, Kapkot MLA Balwant Singh Bhoryal, Almora MLA Raghunath Singh Chauhan and Kashipur MLA Harbhajan Singh Cheema.
There is news about several sitting MLAs denied tickets contesting as independents posing direct threat to the new contesting candidates of BJP. However, eleven tickets are held up likely to ne declared tomorrow. Out these eleven seats a Sahaspur assembly constituency led by a two term MLA Sehdev Singh Pundir which was earlier held up has now been cleared with two term MLA Sehdev Pundir getting the ticket from where a young and dashing candidate Pramod Raturi has applied for ticket. His name was under active consideration say sources. However, several sitting MLAs of BJP have allegedly given threats of turning hostile if there tickets are cut say sources therefore the party leadership had to relent, though it was earlier said that about forty percent new candidates would be brought in to kill the anti incumbency factor at constituency levels. Pramod Raturi a state BJP executive Committee member and president of Swadeshi Krantikari Jagran Manch have been trying his best to stake his claim. Last time he was assured of giving a chance says Pramod Raturi who is a dedicated BJP activist and a strong claimant from Sahaspur constituency. His friends n activists of BJP had met the Union Minister Anurag Thakur and presented his case demanding ticket for this young, dashing and dynamic young leader.
The district Panchayat member Rajesh Baluni, Mandal chief Naveen Rawat, former Block Pramukh Pramukh Vipin Kumar and several other BJP activists had met Union Minister Anurag Thakur and strongly urged to give ticket to the youthful contender this time. According to sources BJP Youth leader Pramod Raturi’s chances were looking bright keeping in view his clean, dashing and blot less image who dedicated his life for the party but all in vain after sitting MLA Sehdev Pundir was given the BJP ticket. Pramod Raturi was banking on the optimism of the party assuring the youths to give them opportunities in order to kill the anti incumbency factor at local level but all Meanwhile, there had been no reports about the response from party high command about Doiwala seat and the decision of the former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat not contesting from here this time, expressing his desire to serve the party by extensively campaigning for BJP candidates during this election.
