Police lodges two FIRs in Rishikesh case and, assures of fair, impartial and transparent probe to punish the guilty !

The Rishikesh incident of a scuffle between the minister, his PRO n gunner with a person of Shivaji Nagar, Rishikesh yesterday after the video went viral in social media has gained momentum with the newspapers and electronic channels highlighting the issue to the core. Some protesting women were seen yesterday evening in front of the police station with the wife of Surendra Singh Negi blaming police personnel for siding with the minister despite the hard fact that her husband was publicly thrashed and then detained by police nor knowing he whereabouts. However, according to latest news the victim Surendra Singh Negi, who was pronounced as a blackmailer by the minister and his PSO accusing him of attacking them, snatching his I Card, Adhar card and some cash has lodged a complaint/ FIR with the Rishikesh police after some Congress workers, women protestors and his, wife had protested against the police demanding action against the minister and his PSO.
The Uttarakhand police have registered FIRS on the complaint of both the parties against the relevant sections and assured taking impartial, authentic legal action against the guilty. In a printed post in Dehradun Police Twitter it is said that : The Uttarakhand police has on 2 -5-23 after receiving the complaints from both the parties regarding the incident that happened at Rishikesh have lodged the FIRs under relevant sections of IPC. On the basis of the evidence available against the culprits the police is taking due n necessary action in the matter.

The police us, taking action in the matter with completely transparency and impartiality assuring that no culprits would be spared. The police advised not to give anything heed to social media rumours about the incidents saying that they are vigilant on this front. They also appealed to maintain peace. In case anyone spreads provocative rumours in this case in social media the police may take stringent legal action against the erring social media users said the police information.
Now there are FIRs by the police against both the parties under sections 147 for rioting, 323 for voluntarily causing hurt and 504 for intentional insult with intent to provide breach of peace of the Indian Penal Code. According to the HT news the Senior Superintendent of Police , DEHRADUN, D. S. KUNWAR said : We have booked finance minister Prem Chand Aggrawal , his, PRO Kaushal, Gunner Gaurav and three four unidentified people on a complained given by Surendra Singh Negi, assuring that the investigations will be fair and impartial. There are two different versions of the complainants one Surendra Singh Negi, who was seen in the video being thrashed and another PSO of the minister. While the complainant Negi charged the minister of hitting him on the road while he was talking to a friend on the motorbike followed by his PRO Bijalwan slapping him and both hitting repeatedly, the PSO of minister who lodged the FIR said Negi and Dharamvir tried to break the window of the minister’s vehicle by hitting it and abused him when he came out of the vehicle to talk to them. He added while abusing they also snatch Rs 1,150, pan card and religious items from ministers Kurta that was torned. Including my uniform beating us. He also said that he threatened the minister and tried to snatch my pistol. However, Negi denied the charges as wrong n baseless. Now, the ball has come in Uttarakhand police’s court and the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had already assured of total impartiality and transparency in the case. The Congress party however stands with the victim saying that since he used to raise people centric issues he has been allegedly targeted by the minister who himself is the lawmaker from Rishikesh. Activists of Congress party have protested in various parts of Uttarakhand and immolated the effigy of the minister demanding his sacking with immediate effect including legal action.
