Poetess and writer Nirmala Negi duped of Rs 3 lakhs through cyber crime

A poet and writer Nirmala Negi, resident of RPS colony, Khanpur has been duped of Rs 3 lakhs after her mobile phone was stolen while she was buying vegetable in Khanpur vegetable market on on 17 th December, 5.00 PM. The badly disturbed hapless women since then have been running from pillar to post from Cyber crime department to police station to the concerned bank but couldn’t get justice except making her run from one corner to another. According to Nirmala Negi despite her best efforts and leaving no stoned unturned after noticing that she has been duped of Rs three lakhs by the cyber (crime) offenders after her phone was stolen she had no option but to confront non cooperation from all the concerned authorities with no hope in sight till date. Nirmala Negi, a known author and poetess hailing from Garhwal Uttarakhand had gone to the Khanpur vegetable market on 27 th December in the evening hours where her phone was stolen. After three days over Rs. Three Lakhs of her hard earned income were clandestinely siphoned from her bank account through UPI literally shaking her from inside. The terribly shaken woman has since been running from police to cyber to bank but of not avail except the departments concerned allegedly shrugging off their responsibilities. According to Nirmala Negi while the Cyber police station has received her written complaint but the FIR has not been registered despite her repeated pleas as everyone including the he bank authorities are asking for the copy of the FIR. Fifty four year old woman Nirmala Devi who very often writes for Nav Bharat Times etc lives in RPS colony Khanpur and on the day of her phone being stolen she immediately stopped the PCR van passing by the vegetable market and reported the matter but instead of acting on the spot immediately they guided her to go to the local police station to lodge her written complaint cum FIR. She lodged the complaint in the Ambedkar Nagar police station as per the guidance of the police patrol van constables and closed her “sim” card. The new SIM card was activated two days after on 19 th December said Nirmala Negi. She was shocked to learn when on the same night that Rs.50000 have been deducted from her account. She went to the bank immediately to enquire about the fraud informing them about the fifty thousand rupees withdrawal but came to know from the bank authorities that on 17,18,19 there was the transactions of Rs.3 lakhs meaning the said amount has been clandestinely withdrawn from her account by the cyber fraudsters who must have been in the possession of her “sim” card/ phone. After knowing of this fraud she immediately lodged a complaint on 1930 including lodging the complaint on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. On the morning of 20 December the complainant woman lodged her complaint with the Cyber thana and the bank but has said that despite her repeated requests the FIR has not been lodged till date. During these struggles by the woman sufferer who happens to be a writer and a poetess she didn’t see any ray of hope and was compelled to contact the Navbharat Times metropolitan news department who helped her by highlighting the issue in order to enable her get back her lost money with stringent punishment to the culprits at the earliest.
