PM’s sudden visit at central vista on Sunday late evening invite mixed reactions

After his hectic tour of United states, meeting US president Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, attending the important Quad summit with Japan and Australian heads and addressing UNGA, prime minister Narendra Modi on Sunday night visited the central vista project without any prior information not with much security and inspected the site under construction interacting with the constructions workers, engineers, taking deep interest in the ongoing over ambitious project near India Gate lawns.

This over ambitious project known as Central Vista is worth Rs 13000 crores under which a new parliament building including rejuvenation of central Vista Avenue is to be built with the cost of Rs 862 and Rs 477 crores respectively.

According to the tweet by union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia who joined BJP from Congress being union minister in Congress government as well : Our 24×7 prime minister arrives at the new parliament building site for a surprise inspection in less than 24 hours since his return from a packed and successful US visit. His tireless service towards nation building is indeed inspiring tweeted Scindia with the picture of prime minister wearing a safety helmet at the construction site.

The union minister Hardip Singh Puri too lauded Prime minister saying that despite his packed schedule and several meetings, the prime minister visited central vista project after returning from US shows how important is the signature project is for the prime minister.

The union railway minister posting the pic of PM tweeted Bharat ke navnnirman ka SAPNA liye hue.

The union minister Piyush Goyal too tweeted : PM always in the forefront for the new India further adding that he had been incessantly involved in the development of the country without being tired and his visit to central vista site shows that he is always busy for the reconstruction n development of the nation tweeted Piyush Goyal.

While there have been praise for PM’s visit by his ministers some have been critical too.

The Congress party n youth Congress leader BV Sriniwas in a ridiculous tone wrote that the PM has reached the venue with security not informing anyone, but didn’t forgot to take the cameraman along.

Congress spokes person Supriya Shrinet tweeted with two pictures : Barbadiyon ka jashna banata Chala Gaya. ( Celebrating the destruction). AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP too criticized the PM’s visit in a humorous tone.

Senior journalist Rajesh Joshi said that four months ago the CPWD had prohibited videography and pictures at central vista construction site ?

Retired IAS officer Surya Pratap Singh in his Hindi tweet wrote in a ruling fashion : Paridhan Mantriji has returned from US taking classes of Gandhian and democracy. He has interest in visiting new residential project with a photographer but has no time to meet the farmers ( Ann Data).

During his surprise visit, the prime minister also met and interacted with the construction workers with all feeling extremely pleased interacting with PM. One of the construction workers bowed downed in reverence at the feet of PM.

It may be recalled that this over ambitious project the work of which has commenced in 2020 is to be completed by 2024.

It includes new parliament, Common central secretariat and special protection group buildings costing Rs 13000 crores.

According to the available information, the project aims to revamp, a three kilometre long Rajpath between Rashtrapati Bhawan to India Gate, converting historic North and and South blocks to publicly accessible archives. The new central secretariat building will house all the ministries, a new parliament building near the existing one with increased sitting capacity leaving a scope for expansion in future, which includes construction of the new Vice President and prime minister house etc.
