PM to visit Dehradun on 4 th while Rahul Gandhi in the first or second week of December. Hectic campaigning commences in Uttarakhand

The Bhartiya Janata Party’s central High Command is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the saffron party which is currently in power in Uttarakhand comes back to power again in the ensuing assembly elections likely to take place in February, March 2022. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has been making announcements after announcements worth hundreds of crores launching various new projects in the state including turning down his own predecessor’s decision on controversial and much hyped Devasthanam Board controlling over 51 temples of the state, to appease the pilgrimage priests n various Temple Trusts management’s. The rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 4 th December at Dehradun and his earlier successful Kedarnath visit has also given leverage to the saffron party government in Uttarakhand. Earlier to PM’s visit the union home minister Amit Shah’s visit at Dehradun to inaugurate a state government project and his direct challenge to former Uttarakhand CM n chairman of state election committee has also added significance to the momentum being added to BJP’s election campaign in the hilly state. Several high level meetings with regard to the visit of prime minister’s are taking place at Dehradun to make PM Modi’s public meeting a grand success. The national BJP chief had also visited Udham Singh Nagar last this month to participate in the high level BJP core committee meeting directing all MLAs, office bearers and MPs to expedite the campaign and establish connect with the common masses. So far the BJP’s top leadership has been extremely active in Uttarakhand enhancing the morale of party workers and leaders but from Congress’s side there had been not a single visit of any central party leader compared to the stature of Prime minister and the union home minister including party’s national chief. Only Congress’s veteran leader Harish Rawat and his deputy, the state chief Ganesh Godiyal are jointly carrying forward the party’s hectic campaign. This has resulted in degrading the morale of Congress party workers and leaders in Uttarakhand with the state party chief having a detailed meeting with the central observer Devendra Yadav recently in Delhi urging him to arrange a public meeting of Rahul Gandhi at Dehradun, to counter the impact of PM’s meeting likely to take place on 4 th December. There are indications that the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi may visit Dehradun in the first or second week of December, though no exact date has been finalised so far. The charismatic Congress general secretary who is the in-charge of UP extremely busy in the largest state of the country is also in demand in Uttarakhand but till date there are no indications of her addressing any meeting in the near future. The third political party Same Admi Party’s national convenor n Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Punjab MP vociferously outspoken Bhagwant Maan has also been to various parts of Uttarakhand viz Gangotri, Haridwar and Khatima and enticed good crowds after announcing several freebies. Though Congress party is also getting tremendous response in its rallies and various meetings being organised by Harish Rawat and state Congress chief Ganesh Godiyal but non availability of its national leaders in its campaign as compared to saffron party is demoralising it’s rank and file. This elections has become triangular in view of AAM ADMI Party’s impressive intervention in the state elections say political analysts which otherwise would have been a straight contest between BJP and Congress.
