PM Modi serves resignation letter to President Droupadi Murmu

Prime minister Narendra Modi has today resigned as the prime minister of 17 th Lok Sabha. He met the president of India Smt Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhawan and submitted his resignation letter. The president accepted his resignation letter and advised him to carry in this pivotal responsibility till the next prime minister takes charge. In a message posted on her twitter handle X , President Draupadi Murmu along with the pictures with PM she wrote : Prime Minister @narendramodi called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The Prime Minister tendered his resignation along with the Union Council of Ministers. The President accepted the resignation and requested the Prime Minister and the Union Council of Ministers to continue in office till the new Government is formed.

It may be recalled that prime minister Narendra Modi was first elected the prime minister in 2014, followed by his re- election and swearing in as PM in 2019. This will be his third term as prime minister of the NDA government. In 2014 the BJP led NDA government had the combined strength of 336 lawmakers followed by his next government formed in 2019 with the NDA strength being 303. This time the NDA’s strength is 303 in the Lok Sabha with BJP talking and massively propagating about crossing 400 marks has brought 292 MPs in NDA format that include 240 MPs of BJP , twenty Two MPs short of 272 individually banking on the major support of TDP and JD (U) led by N Chandrababu Naidu and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar who are in Delhi today to participate in the NDA meeting to form the new government, of 18 th Lok Sabha led by two terms PM Narendra Modi for the third time.
