PM Modi feels good on meeting Queen of field n track, Padmashree PT Usha, MP RS in Parliament !
The prime minister Narendra Modi met eminent athlete Padma shree popularly known as UDAN PARI PT Usha in Parliament and expressed his jubilation by a single line tweet : Glad to meet PT Usha in Parliament today. The newly sworn in eminent fast racer of India P. T. Usha of Kerala took oath in Hindi surprising one and all on Wednesday. Nominated to Rajya Sabha PT Usha felt highly elated on her nomination to Rajya Sabha. She tweeted : Elated by the wonderful wishes from all over India. Your support and faith in me will go a long way in shaping my journey forward from here tweeted the Queen of India track and field P. T. Usha who is credited for winning four Asian Gold medals and 7 silver medals. Eminent athelete born in Kuttali, Kozhikode, Kerala Pilavallukandi Thekeraparambil Usha was born in 27 th June, 1964 having brought 4 Gold n 7 silvers for India in international race competitions, was nominated to Rajya Sabha on 6 th July on the recommendation of NDA govt by president Ram Nath Kovind. Also known as Payyoli Express apart from Racing Queen ” Udan Pari”, of India a great source of inspiration to lakhs of young girls and thousands of SPORTS GIRLS ( athletes) of the country – PT Usha unluckily missed India’s first medal in racing track in a photo finish standing fourth in women’s 400 metres hurdle, losing the bronze by minutest 1/100 second being extremely unlucky. This was in 1984 Olympics. The decision of the nomination of PT Usha in Rajya Sabha is being lauded all over the country which was long overdue.
