PILGRIMS AT KEDARNATH ANGRY, COMPLAINED ABOUT MANY FOLD COST OF FOOD ITEMS AND RENT OF THE HOTELS AND TENTS ETC. SAY THERE IS TOTAL LOOT AND CHAOS AROUND !
The pilgrims visiting Kedarnath Shrine from different parts of the country are these days complaining about complete chaos while also accusing the Temple Committee management and the state government for not looking after the convenience and welfare of the pilgrims and their families.
It may be recalled that the Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri portals were opened on 25 th and 27 th April respectively.
Kedarnath Shrine has the temperature of less than 4 degrees Celsius with snow capped mountains and chilling cold waves all around.
The pilgrims reaching Kedarnath had complained about total mismanagement and harrasment of tourists n pilgrims with bisleri bottles costing Rs 60 to 80 , Maggie Rs. 60 to 100 , a hotel room for Rs 10000 per night, a plate of Rice Dal costing Rs 150 n biscuit packets costly by five to eight times more etc.
The pilgrims have suggested that if they really want to get rid of this harrasment and avoid becoming victim of the shopkeepers at Kedarnath who are literally looting them etc they should bring the eatables along.
Angry pilgrims were also annoyed about the Darshan being stopped for more than half an hour when the chief minister visited for Darshan at Kedarnath. Not only this but they have also complained about VIP Darshan going on in full swing and the queues of the pilgrims taking five to ten hours for Darshan as thousands of pilgrims are thronging here in large numbers without registration.
In one of the tweets by Prem Piram it is written : In new Uttarakhand’s Kedarnath Dham there is literally loot going on : JITNA LOOT SAKO LOOTO, DARSHAN ( Obeisance ONLY FOR VIPS ? WHAT TYPE OF MANAGEMENT IS THIS ? THE REGISTRATION NOISE IS JUST FOR NAME SAKE, THOSE WITH POLITICAL INFLUENCE ARE HAVING DARSHANS REVEALS THE TWEET.
The pilgrims said the government of Uttarakhand and the temple management is earning during to the visits of pilgrims in large numbers to these historic religious destinations and we have elected the CM. Then why is it that the pilgrims are being looted with inflationary rates of food items, water bottles, hotel rooms’ rent n other items etc asked the irritated pilgrims.
The Pujaries of the Temple survive because we come here said one of the agitated pilgrims but we are being looted in the name of Darshan ?
Kindly recall that over 45 to 50 lakh pilgrims have visited the four historic shrines during the last year’s after Covid 19 from different parts of the country n globe.
