Petrol in Delhi cheaper by Rs 8, per litre from Rs 103 to 95, as Delhi govt deducts VAT on patrol
There were accusations against the AAM ADMI PARTY government in Delhi that it is creating lot of noise and accusations against the BJP led NDA government at the centre for enhancing prices of petrol and diesal including domestic gas resulting in all round inflation but today in Delhi the Value Added Tax on Petrol has been reduced by Rs 8, thus lowering the per litre price of petrol from Rs 103 to Rs. 95. The Delhi government has reduced Rs 8, i.e. thirty percent from Rs 27.40 total VAT levied earlier on a litre of petrol.
However, there has been no concession on VAT on Diesal say the news reports.
After incessant pressure on the government by the opposition parties and disenchantment in the public, the BJP led NDA government had reduced VAT by Rs 12 on per litre petrol bringing it down by Rs 12.
However, then the AAM ADMI PARTY government had not reduced the VAT inviting lot of criticism though several state governments had deducted VAT in their respective states.
Earlier, in view of Petrol being expensive in the national capital, the Delhi consumers used to go to go to UP to fill their tanks and those living in NCR and UP were not purchasing petrol from Delhi, compelling the Delhi government to deduct Rs. 8 on VAT imposed on Petrol, lowering its price to Rs. 95 from Rs. 103 per litre.
This decision of the government of Delhi will give tremendous relief to Delhites say political analysts.
