Petition filed in SC asking for Kejrival’s removal from Chief Ministership of Delhi quashed
The Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival who is out on interim bail busy in campaigning for his party candidates in Delhi again got a shot in the arm today when a petition filed in Supreme Court asking for his dismissal as chief minister has been quashed forthwith.
This gave the AAP party and its architech Arvind Kejrival a great relief.
Earlier too two such petitions were filed in Delhi High Court on different dates and the judges not only dismissed those petitions but also fined one of the petitioners expressing their annoyance over such petitions wasting the invaluable time of the court saying that they are not the competent authorities and that the petitioners should instead of coming to them, should approach the honourable president and Lt Governor of NCT of Delhi who have the requisite powers.
The bench of Supreme Court hearing the plea and rejecting it said that it has no constitutional or legal rights to shun out the chief minister from his post.
It may be recalled that in high court’s earlier two petitions that were filed in this regard in which though both the petitions were quashed by the judge had fined the second petitioner Sandeep Kumar with a fine of probably Rs 50000 or 1 lakh and strongly reprimanded him saying not to waste the valuable time of the court on such baseless matters. The court said don’t give a bhashan in the Court rather go to some other corner of the street to deliver it.
