An atmosphere of terror prevails in the Chaubattakhal area of Pauri Garhwal district following a tragic incident. On the night of April 2, a man-eating leopard killed a four-year-old girl in the village of Timli (Bhatkot) in the Kolagad area of Pokhara development block.

Following this heartbreaking incident, an atmosphere of fear and widespread anger has gripped the entire area.

The administration and forest department have swung into action following the incident. Keeping the safety of children in mind, it has been decided to close all schools in the affected area until April 6th.

Also, considering the seriousness of the situation, the Forest Department has also obtained permission to capture the leopard or kill it if necessary.

Within 24 hours of the incident, the forest department intensified the search operation in the area. Twenty trap cameras have been installed to monitor the leopard’s movements, and three cages have been set up to capture it. Drone technology is also being used to monitor the forest and surrounding areas.
