Passport office to be opened at Kotdwar soon. Foreign minister officially sanctions the request of MP Anil Baluni

The gateway to Pauri Garhwal district, Uttarakhand Kotdwar will soon have its own Passport office and the process of opening of a new passport office at Gopeshwar in Chamoli district is also underway.
This decision has been officially informed by none other than the union minister of External Affairs and former foreign secretary Mr Jaishankar to the member of Parliament from Pauri Garhwal parliamentary constituency Anil Baluni during his meeting with the minister. After being elected as the member of parliament from Pauri Garhwal constituency Anil Baluni has met the union minister Jaishankar Prasad and requested him to establish a pass port office in Kotdwar Garhwal and at Gopeshwar in Chamoli district too to enable people of Garhwal region get their pass ports locally and conveniently.
At present in the absence of the passport offices at Kotdwar and Gopeshwar the people living at far flung areas in the Uttarakhand hills have to travel to Delhi or Dehradun to apply for the passport involving lengthy physical residential address verification processes etc.
According to the important message posted on X, the Pauri Garhwal MP has acquainted that the Honorable External Affairs Minister Shri S. Jaishankar Ji has informed me that on my demand, he has approved the opening of a passport office in Kotdwar of Garhwal Lok Sabha, which will start functioning very soon. You will remember that some time ago I had met the External Affairs Minister and demanded the opening of passport offices in Kotdwar and Gopeshwar of Garhwal so that the citizens of our Lok Sabha can avail the benefits of all passport related services easily and conveniently. The process of setting up a passport office in Gopeshwar (Chamoli district) is also underway. I am thankful to the respected Foreign Minister that he took the problems of the citizens of Garhwal Lok Sabha constituency, especially the youth, seriously and took prompt action on my request and also informed me about the progress on it. With the opening of the passport office, the youth of our Garhwal will not have to wander anywhere else for a passport to go abroad for education and employment. This will also save them time and money. In the government of the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the services meant for the elite class are now reaching the common man easily at their doorsteps.
