Panel number 1’s entire team sweeps the GHS election defeating panel number 2, with Ajay and Dwarika elected as president n general secretary

The results of the biggest representative social organisation of the inhabitants of Garhwal, Uttarakhand in Delhi and NCR Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha has been declared with panel number 1led by president Ajay Singh Bisht and general secretary Dwarika Prasad Bhatt sweeping it.

The results were declared on Sunday night in which out of its total membership of 4325, about 1379 life members voted . This comes to about 32% voting said the chief election officer Mr. Rawat. The panel number 2 represented by Shailendra Singh as president and Pawan Maithani as general secretary representing their entire team has lost this election giving a clear signal that the Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha members wanted a change, giving chance to new office bearers n not interested to repeat the old ones. The former general secretary of GHS Pawan Maithani, Mr. Rana as treasurer etc had already served in this organisation during it’s last term getting further extention during Covid lockdown for another nearly two years. The victory margin was not much but keeping in view the 32% voting the victory margin was quite impressive.

The panel number 1 presidential candidate Ajay Singh Bisht win by a margin of 349 votes defeating his nearest rival Shailendra Singh Rawat, advocate and Dwarika Prasad Bhatt defeating Pawan Maithani as general secretary by 200 votes. Dwarika Maithani is in govt job in NDMC as Joint Director. The voting commenced at 9 on Sunday and continued till 5. 00 PM.

The results were declared at around 8.00 PM. Three women candidates Sanyogita Dhyani, Mrs Bhall and Yashodha Ghildiyal have also won from Panel number one, which had given opportunity to three women candidates whereas the panel number two had given not a, single ticket to any women member. Bhagwan Singh Negi president of Garhwal Heroes have been elected as The sports secretary. The list of the new elected office bearers are : Ajay Singh Bisht, President, Dwarika Prasad Bhatt, general secretary, Jai Singh Rana, vice president, Deepak Dviwedi, secretary, Gulab Singh Jayara, treasurer, Anil Pant, Deputy Treasurer, Murari Lal Khanduri, organising secretary, Sanyogita Dhyani, cultural secretary, Manorama Bhatt, Literary Secretary, Bhagwan Singh Negi, Sports Secretary. Twelve executive members have also been elected from panel number one.
