Opposition MPs are not allowed to raise issues of their choice in Parliament n are suspended. It’s a symbol of killing democracy : Rahul

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today expressed his, serious concern over the suspension of 12 opposition MPs from Rajya Sabha accusing the ruling party that the voice of the opposition is being crushed as they are not allowed to raise their voice in Parliament.

He castigated prime minister Narendra Modi saying that he doesn’t attend the parliament nor the opposition MPs allowed to raise issues of their choice and of people’s concern. They are threatened and suspended amounting to killing of democracy.

Rahul Gandhi was today addressing media at Vijay Chowk where opposition MPs had marched from parliament house to register their protest against the suspension of 12 Rajya Sabha MPs.

Saying that the prime minister and the Rajya Sabha chairman were the implementors of power that is interested in stealing the income of farmers. Rahul added: A union minister killed farmers n the prime minister is very much aware of the fact. He said they are not the PM or Rajya Sabha MP who suspended these MPs but the power that is interested to steal the farmers income.

Addressing the media, Congress leader wearing a pitch dark black shirt, a symbol of protest said the suspension of 12 RS MPs is a clear cut symbol of killing democracy. The opposition party MPs are not allowed to debate on issues of importance of subjects of their choice but are threatened. This is killing of democracy said Rahul Gandhi. He said, when we asked for debate on Lakhimpur Kheeri case in which a minister’s name appeared,we were not allowed, on China issue, on the issue of farmers, no debate, Hum Fo Hamare Do are not allowing this, to happen he said.

He tweeted : the prime minister always remains worried for publicity while awake or sleep, Always runs from the real issues of people’s concerned tweeted Rahul Gandhi.

In two latest tweets tagging his video addressing media Rahul Gandhi wrote pointing towards PM not mentioning his name : You are in UP, then go and meet the bereaved families of Farmers who had died, Not dismissing your minister is injustice and Irreligious tweeted Rahul Gandhi. In another tweet he said : Modi, the time has arrived to seek apologies again, but first the father of the accused should be removed from the post of a minister! The truth is in the front tweeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

It may be recalled that the 12 opposition MPs were suspended from the Rajya Sabha for their unruly behaviour during monsoon session of August, despite the criticism still going on.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Youth Congress activists today courted arrests after protesting against the suspension of 12 MPs and skyrocketing prices of essential commodities.
