Three killed on the spot, five grievously injured and three occupants of Max not traced after a Max heading for Rishikesh from Son Prayag fell in a deep Gorge on NH 58 Srinagar Road

Uttarakhand has become accident prone where every second day there is news about tragic accidents claiming several lives.

If we go by the statistics of these dreaded accidents with majority of them being those of vehicles falling in gorges taking several lives, the figure of casualties would be enormous.

Similarly the cases of man eater attacks and subsequent casualties have also gone up becoming a regular feature. However, despite these dreaded accidents there has not been anything remedial measures from governments’ side to counter or control them.

Just today yet another deadly accident took place near Gular on NH -58, Srinagar Road, Garhwal where a Max taxi met with a severe accident killing three of the occupants on the spot while three persons not being traced till yet, though the five grievously injured are being treated in hospital.

According to the latest news this dreaded accident occurred on the early morning hours of 9 th July when a speedy Max carrying eleven persons was involved in an accident which was heading towards Rishikesh from Son Prayag.

According to the police of Muni ki Reti, Chowki Vyasi, Rishikesh the vehicle become uncontrolled between Malaakunthi bridge and Anandkashi falling with a huge bang in a gorge near Ganga river, killing three on the spot and grievously injuring five of them with five occupants not being traced till yet.

There have been several complaints of majority of the Max and other vehicles going overloaded in order to earn profits and this is the usual reason of vehicles going uncontrolled and falling in a deep gorge claiming several lives. The traffic n transport department should exercise vigil and check every vehicle ensuring that they are not overloaded.
