One dead and woman grievously injured, shifted to AIIMS, Rishikesh due to wild bear attack


There is yet another tragic news coming in from Garhwal Uttarakhand where in Chamoli district’s Jyotirmai, village Dumak a wild bear has attacked two persons, husband and his wife who had gone to their agricultural fields. Since there was no better transport to take the seriously and grievously injured women to a big hospital an air ambulance was arranged by the authorities i.e. the forest department and taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh in an unconscious condition crying in absolute pain and bleeding profusely. While this women was injured grievously another victim ( husband) was reported to have succumbed to the severe injuries inflicted by the Wild bear. The police as well as the forest department has increased the patrolling. The people in Rudraprayag and surrounding areas are badly terrified and compelled to remain indoors during the day time as well as during night hours. The manpower leopard and the Wild bear attacks have increased in Uttarakhand hills proving extremely fatal. Almost all the districts of Uttarakhand are affected by this menace and terrified people’s life in jeopardy. It may be recalled that Dumak village of Joshimath block is the most remote village where road has not reached till date, for which a chopper was arranged and the woman taken to the AIIMS hospital at Rishikesh.
