After the issuance of Delhi High Court orders and coming to an end of the last date for vacating their illegal occupation in Bhoomiheen camp, JJ cluster in Kalkaji, the assembly constituency of the former Delhi chief minister Atishi Marlena where the illegal occupants were living in houses built on DDA land for several years , the Buldozer of DDA has demolished around 1200 Jhuggies( houses) creating quite a panic in Bhumiheen camp and the other J.J.clusters with the inhabitants literally in tears. The former Delhi CM and vociferous AAP leader Atishi Marlena reached the JJ Camp along with her security and followers and met the residents whose houses were demolished saying that the Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta had in her two days ago delivered speech had assured that no Jhuggi cluster in Delhi will be demolished in the near future but after two days the Buldozer razed hundreds of tenements in Bhumiheen camp where they have been living for years. She wrote on X posting a video of her visit in this camp and interacting with the affected residents in tears. She wrote on X : This is the real face of BJP.
Taking votes from the poor and then making them homeless. The BJP government reached the landless camp at 5 am with a bulldozer and destroyed the homes of thousands of poor people. The BJP cares neither for the poor nor for humanity.
BJP’s promise of ‘where there is a slum, there will be a house’ has now changed to ‘where there is a slum, there will be a ground’.
It may be recalled that the previous Congress government which ruled Delhi for fifteen years till 2023-14 , the AAP government and the BJP has assured the Delhi JJ clusters inhabitants that there will be in situ rehabilitation of the JJ clusters people under the PPP mode but several decades have elapsed and nothing has been done in this regard and on honourable orders of the court the JJ clusters are being demolished.
After the action started in the Kalkaji Bhoomuheen camp a large number of security forces were deployed to counter the anger of the residents in case they retaliated but everything was under control. The strong posse of paramilitary forces along with the Delhi police personnel were deployed during the action of DDA.
In a tweet on X the Aam Admi Party said on this action that BJP is an anti-poor party ‼️
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta ji had said that not even a single slum will be touched in Delhi but today the bulldozer is running on the landless camp since 5 am in the morning.
BJP’s DDA and Delhi government fielded their top lawyers in court against these poor people and said that their slums should be demolished and we will not even give them houses.
Meanwhile hundreds of DTC bus marshals who had been terminated from service today demonstrated in front of the Delhi CM’s house in Shalimar Bagh holding placards and raising slogans demanding their immediate re- recruitment in the jobs from where they were shunted out earlier and not going ven employment against despite the BJP government coming to power.
The slogans written on the play cards in Hindi were : Fulfil the promises given to the bus marshals, Bus Marshalon ko rojgaar vaapasdo etc.
