Olympian wrestler VINESH PHOGAT gives up retirement as announced earlier, returns to wrestling mat

Says would bring laurels for the nation in 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

The Olympian woman wrestler who was at the forefront of a protracted struggle against Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, MP and the longest serving chairman of the All India Wrestlers Federation finally succeeding in filing an FIR against him, has taken a big decision of breaking her Sanyas from wrestling and announcing about her dashing come backon the wrestling mat.

While giving this awesome message to her fans at the pan India level especially to women wrestlers who are inspired by her success story , Vinesh Phogat said that she will now dedicate her entire energy for the preparation in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics to bring laurels for the nation raising the Indian Tricolour high globally.

It may be recalled that in the 2024 Olympics injustice happened with Vinesh and she couldn’t reach the finals.

Vinesh Phogat was very close to making history at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She became the first Indian female wrestler to reach an Olympic final, and with the form she was in, it seemed she would win the division as well.

But a few hours before the final, she was found to be 100 grams overweight, due to which hardlucked Vinesh was disqualified from the competition.

After this, she was emotionally broken and announced her retirement sending shock waves all around.

Vinesh returned to the mat after 18 months. Sharing an emotional post on Instagram, Vinesh wrote that over the past year and a half, she had asked herself many questions and tried to understand her journey while away from the sport. Vinesh wrote, “People kept asking if yesterday was the end.
