Olympian who won Silver, Bronze n several Gold medals in CW n other national games arrested in a murder case. Being interrogated by Special Cell

Renowned wrestling Olympian having won two, Silver and Bronze medal singularly and several Golds in Commonwealth Games and other national championships raising the nations’ name and reputation high globally thus inspiring hundreds of budding wrestlers who too want to raise the Indian flag high , has been arrested on Sunday at Mundka Delhi alongwith with his associate.

Olympian champion Sushil Kumar was being searched by the special Cell of Delhi police for the last few days as he was absconding from 5 th May after allegedly attacking a twenty three year old wrestler namely Sagar Dhankar who was earlier in close proximity with the Olympian wrestler as his desciple. Sagar Dhankar died in hospital after he received heavy injuries on 5 th May at Chatrasaal Stadium allegedly physically thrashed by Sushil Kumar and his associates which included some gangsters as well said the news reports. The special cell of Delhi police were tracking him for the last 18 days having raided several possible hide outs in UP Uttarakhand, Haryana and Delhi.

Sushil Kumar was on the run with his other associates since May 5. It may be recalled that popular Olympian Sushil Kumar had on 5 th May allegedly kidnapped 23 yr old wrestler Sagar Dhankar from Model Town house and taken to Chatrasaal Stadium on a gun point. It is said that there was a dispute regarding non payment of few months rent by Sagar Dhankar where he was staying. He wasn’t paying the rent of the flat that belonged to Sushil Kumar’s wife. On reaching the stadium arguments between Sushil and Dhankar resulted in the fight between both the group’s with Sushil Kumar n his associates, ( wrestlers) badly beating the latter with sticks n hockeys resulting in Sagar’s death after being admitted in hospital. One of the associates of Dhankar is believed to have informed the police via control room 100. The case was handed over to Model Town police station.

There had been several gun shots also during the fight said some eye witnesses.

The police has got the mobile vedio evidence unambiguously showing Sushil Kumar allegedly thrashing Sagar with sticks etc and emerging out of the car in which he had kidnapped Sagar wrestler at a gun point.

The deceased twenty three year old Sagar wrestler is the son of a constable in Delhi police who had accused Sushil Kumar of pressuring his son to join him in shabby affair of forcibly evacuating houses in league with other criminals. Sagar unambiguously refused Sushil’s offer of joining him in the dubious affair of forcibly evacuating houses saying that he was here to become a popular wrestler not to involve in the unlawful activities.

There was a reward of Rs one lakh for giving possible clue to capture Sushil Kumar and Rs 50000 for one of his associates who were absconding for the last 19 days since May 5.

With wrestler Sagar Dhankar, two other friends were grievously injured but their lives were saved whereas Sagar Dhankar died of severe n grievous injuries after being attacked by Sushil Kumar and his associates ( wrestlers ) of Chatrasaal Stadium n some unlawful elements said the news report.

Sushil Kumar is being interrogated in depth at the special Cell office of Delhi police to ascertain the actual reasons behind the murder of Sagar Dhankar and Sushil’s various dubious deals.

According to the deputy Commissioner of Police D.S. Khushwaha, thirty eight year old Sushil Kumar and his accomplice Ajay alias Sunil have been arrested from Mundka. In the fisticuffs with Sushil Kumar and his accomplices on 4 th May deceased wrestlers two friends Sonu and Amit Kumar were grievously injured.

It may be recalled that Olympian outstanding wrestler Sushil Kumar is the son in law of Satpal Pahalwan, a legend wrestler who was the director of sports, ( Chatrasaal Stadium) appointed by the NCT government and as such he had his fullest say in the Stadium affairs which produced several wrestlers bagging gold n bronze medal for the country in various national n international championships like Yogeshwar Dutt n Punia etc. Sushil Kumar was appointed as the OSD in Chatrasaal Stadium where he had his full clout.
