NSUI activists court arrest at Dehradun protesting against unemployment
The activists of the frontal organisation Congress National Students Union of India today staged a massive protest outside the residence of Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat raising anti government slogans demanding employment lest threatening to return back their degrees. The NSUI activists courted arrests in good number after they were not allowed to move ahead by the huge police bandobast. Several prominent leaders of All India Congress Committee and Uttarakhand Congress staged a sit-in in support of the protesting National Students Union of India. Prominent amongst those present in this protest demonstration against the increasing unemployment in the state demanding jobs for youngsters lest urging the BJP government led by Trivendra Singh Rawat to take back their degrees were central observer n In-charge of Uttarakhand Congress affairs Devendra Yadav, Uttarakhand Congress Committee president n MLA Pritam Singh, the national president of NSUI Neeraj Kundan, Uttarakhand NSUI president Mohan Bhandari, Manish Khanduri, advisory member IT Department, AICC, Prakash Joshi, Sarita Arya, Aryendra Sharma, former CM ND Tiwari’s OSD, vice President of Uttarakhand Congress, Suryakant Dhasmana and almost all the state Congress officer bearers and party leaders n workers including women activists. A memorandum was submitted addressed to the chief minister on this occasion.
It may be recalled that the Congress party of Uttarakhand has expedited its protest demonstrations and sit in in the state capital as well as in various parts of the state highlighting burning peoples’ grievances especially in view of the fast approaching state assembly elections. Meanwhile, the state Congress central observer Devendra Yadav has outrightly rejected the proposal of AICC national general secretary n former CM Harish Rawat’s proposal to declare the name of the party’s prospective CM face before the 2022 assembly election thus sidelining the former CM Rawat and backing the incumbent party president Pritam Singh and the leader of the Congress legislature Indira Hridayesh.
Extremely optimistic of returning back to power in Uttarakhand the state Congress leaders are trying their best to put the ruling BJP in the dock by organising maximum numbers of protest demonstrations trying to expose the saffron party for its inefficiencies and complacense on issues of unemployment, poor health services in the state and on burning national issues on skyrocketing inflation especially the excessive prise rise of petrol, Diesal and domestic gas.
