The fourth and final list of Aam Admi Party has been released today with almost all the previous MLAs repeated and their constituencies being the same. The former chief minister and national convenor of AAP Arvind Kejrival and Atishi are contesting from the same constituencies i.e. New Delhi and Kalkaji and so are its ministers except former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and deputy speaker DVS shifting their constituencies from Patparganj and Mangolpuri to Jangpura and Madipur respectively. There were reports that in an internal survey held by AAP the chances of both these AAP leaders weren’t good apprehending their defeats due to massive anti incumbency, hence their constituencies wre changed. However, AAP has cut the tickets of about 15 MLAs this time apprehensive of losing three seats and have obliged majority of the defected former MLAs of Congress and BJP joining AAP recently. The Uttarakhandies in Delhi are however annoyed with the AAP despite the hard fact that AAP has given the Uttarakhand – Garhwali, Kumaoni, Jaunsari Academy to Uttarakhandies in Delhi. They are annoyed this time because not a single candidate has been given ticket as was also last time. Delhi has about thirty to forty lakhs Uttarakhandies in Delhi who play a significant role in deciding few MLA seats in Delhi. The AAP has obliged all communities by giving them due representation in allocation of tickets but the Uttarakhandies were left out.
This really hurts their sentiments to the core. Even last time the AAP didn’t give a single ticket to any Uttarakhandi candidate with BJP obliging an Uttarakhandi from Patparganj seat against the then deputy CM Manish Sisodia who has this time shifted to Jangpura as Sisodia who had won by a margin of 21000 votes in 2013 has in 2019 reduced that margin to mere 2100 votes and that too after losing in several rounds against his BJP rival who happened to be an Uttarakhandi from BJP.
According the fourth and final list Satyendra Jain , the former health minister, Delhi who was in Tihar prison for over two years and Saurabh Bharadwaj , cabinet minister have been alloted tickets from their previous constituencies too viz Shakur Basti and Greater Kailash and so all the previous MLAs in the final list. It may be recalled that MLA Amantullah Khan who had also been in jail top under serious PMLA charges by ED has been repeated from Okhla and former law minister Somnath Bharti from Malviya Nagar.
