Uttrakhand

No representation to an Uttarakhandi in Delhi cabinet though union minister Amit Shah has publicly assured in Mustafabad constituency ” Make Bisht win, I will make him a ” Bahut Bada Admi”.

The inhabitants of Delhi originally hailing from Uttarakhand are annoyed after the union Home minister Amit Shah has not come true to their expectation by not making the six term state legislature from Delhi , currently MLA from Mustafabad ” A Bahut Badaa Aadmi” as promised by him during his campaigning in Mustafabad in favour of Mohan Singh Bisht when he was the party’s candidate during the recently held elections.

Though the 67 years old Mohan Singh Bisht had been elevated as the deputy speaker of Delhi Vidhan Sabha, the Uttarakhandies say that being the senior most lawmaker in age, experience, seniority and unflinching faith and dedication towards BJP with transparent image, the post of deputy speaker is just a toy to please him called ” JHUNJHUNA” in Hindi.

Today , the first time lawmaker from Shalimar Bagh – Rekha Gupta was sworn in as the Delhi CM after the BJP returned back to power after 27 protracted years since 1998.

Six cabinet ministers were also sworn in after her swearing in. They represented Punjabi community, Sikh community, Vaishya, Jat community, Dalits and Rajput but unfortunately Uttarakhandies despite their being in more than 20 lakh numbers didn’t got any representation except a post of deputy speaker which is hardly of any significance, except when the speaker is out of station or couldn’t attend the house due to ill health etc.

During Congress regime in 1988 Kulanand Bhartiya, the then Metropolitan Counciller was the Executive Councillor of Civil supplies, education for pretty long time. He was respectfully honoured by Congress for several years.

One of a senior bureaucrats and author Dr. V.K. Bahuguna, also the president of a regional political party of Uttarakhand is not happy over the BJP’s such an attitude of insult towards Uttarakhand community which has given so much to the saffron party in Uttarakhand and Delhi saying that the population of people from Uttarakhand in Delhi is around 20 lakh and the number of Sikhs is around 6 lakh, but BJP has not selected anyone from Uttarakhand for the post of cabinet minister.

This shows how the people of Uttarakhand in Delhi politics have been sidelined. One other senior social activist in Delhi hailing from Uttarakhand Mr. K.C. Pandey said – this is really an insult of all us Uttarakhandi in Delhi. During campaign Amit Shahji told to the voters in Mustafabad that if you vote for BJP and Bisthji wins, we shall make him ” bahut bada Aadmi”. And now handed over a jhunjhuna to him the post of Deputy speaker.

Mohan Singh Bisht who was MLA from Karawal Nagar and another transyamuna constituency for five terms on BJP ticket has this time thrown out of Karawal Nagar giving him the ticket from Mustafabad , a muslim dominated constituency.

In his place from Karawal Nagar Kapil Mishra was given the BJP ticket and now he is a minister in Delhi government obviously on the blessings of Amit Shah, Home minister.

When Mohan Singh was send to Mustafabad he had lost all hopes to win as this was a Muslim dominated constituency. He was rather demoralised and had then said that he is contesting from Mustafabad honouring the party’s directive asa sincere soldier. He was then in tears literally.

The union Home minister has campaigned for Mohan Singh Bisht and had publicly said that make Mohan Singh Bisht win from Mustafabad, I promise to make him a Bahut Bada Admi. After Mohan Singh won from here, it was felt that he is the chief minister in waiting for two credible reasons, one the union Home minister has already publicly assured that he would be made Bisht a Bahut Bada Aadmi and second, he is the sixth term MLA having even won from a seat dominated by Muslims with BJP never thinking of bagging this seat ever. He is of blot free image as well and a committed and determined soldier of saffron party for several decades.

The current speaker Goel is three term M L A whereas he is the six term lawmaker and two of the ministers in the cabinet have four criminal cases in their resume.
