Nitish resigns, breaks alliance with BJP. To form next govt with RJD, Congress and Communist support. Has, support of 160 lawmakers !
After two days of hectic developments and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s annoyance with the saffron party, its main partner on whose support he was running his government, feeling extremely pressurised by the BJP n its central leaders, finally tendered his resignation on Tuesday and handed over the letter to the state governor, unambiguously announcing the breakup of the alliance with BJP. Nitish Kumar has complained that he allegedly have evidence and tape recorded statements of his lawmakers being misguided or allegedly purchased against exorbitant money to politically destabilise him. This news is running on all news channels.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal led by Lalu Prasad Yadav n his son Tejasvi Yadav, Congress party n communist parties have already declared their full n whole hearted support to form a new government in Bihar if Nitish Kumar bids final adieu to the saffron party.
According to the latest news the former Bihar CM Nitish Kumar will again meet the Bihar governor Phagu Chouhan this evening along with the RJD leader Tejasvi Yadav and Congress leaders as well and submit the list of about 160 lawmakers in his favour.
Out of 243 MLAs of Bihar Assembly Nitish Kumar needs merely 127 lawmakers to form his government, whereas his strength now goes to 160 MLAs.
If we have a glance at the strength of various parties in Bihar to Nitish Kumar, RJD has the maximum seats with 79 MLAs whereas BJP had only 78, the JDU led by Nitish Kumar has 45 MLAs while Congress has 16 and left party 19 including one independent making the total strength of 160 lawmakers.
This means Tejasvi Yadav is the kingmaker of Bihar this time elevating his image fourfold, in the state as well as the national politics.
Meanwhile, RJD, Congress n Communist parties held their separate meetings and finally decided to wholeheartedly support Nitish Kumar who had officially declared breaking alliance with BJP, sending his resignation letter to governor personally.
Yesterday he had spoken to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and had been in touch with Tejasvi Yadav n Communist Party leaders as well, who’d agreed immediately that if Nitish breaks alliance with the saffron party they will support him.
In 2015 Nitish Kumar became CM of Bihar with RJD’s support but it broke down in 2017. Finally Nitish made the saffron party his most trusted friend thereafter and contested along with them though winning Bihar but getting merely 45 seats compared to BJP’s 78.
However, feeling immense pressure from BJP in his functioning as the state CM, he finally preferred to align with his old progressive friends breaking alliance with saffron party, keeping BJP n NDA leaders shocked and finger crossed.
There are reports that the RJD and Nitish Kumar might be discussing on new ministry formation with the former wanting the Deputy CM post as well as home ministry including some other important portfolios.
The Congress n Communist parties will also be accomodated accordingly in a new ministerial setup reveal sources. On the other hand the senior BJP leader n union minister Radha Mohan Singh has also reached Bihar with all their party MPs of both the houses and would be meeting the governor.
