Nine feared dead when boulders fell down destroying a bridge n hitting a car in Sangla valley, Himachal Pradesh

A shocking vedio clicked by the locals is going viral in social media exhibiting several boulders falling down several hundreds metres below completely damaging a bridge in Sangla valley of Kinnaur district, Himachal Pradesh with 9 people feared dead. Three persons have been grievously injured.

As per the latest reports and the vedio posted in social media large chunks of Rocky boulders are rolling down from a mountain top hundreds of meteres downwards with full speed completely breaking a bridge and few cars in Sangla valley sending shock waves around. This happened due to the landslides during monsoon a usual miss happening in hilly areas.

This terrifying vedio being shared repeatedly shows people shouting in distress and shock, watching huge Rocky stones speedily coming towards them in the valley damaging cars and literally breaking a bridge killing at least nine people, reported to be tourists plying on the bridge in their cars.

The rocks that tumbled downwards with an uncontrollable speed fell down on a speeding car heading towards a tourist spot called Chitkul. The latest reports show nine tourists reportedly feared dead when the Basteri village in Sangla valley in Kinnaur district was completely damaged with probably damaged car plying on it falling down in the river after the bridge collapsed.

During monsoons Boulder felling from mountain tops n landslides are common features leading to number of casualties. The soil of the hills in excessive rains get loosened and the heavy Rocky stones losing the grip fell down killing n injuring people n tourists travelling in cars. Just a few days ago in Badrinath road ine assistant professor Manoj Pokhriyal was killed n two injured when a boulder fell on their running car in which they were travelling.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the loss of lives in an accident in Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh.

The Prime Minister has also announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh to be given to the next of kin of those who lost their lives and Rs. 50,000 to those injured.

In a series of PMO tweet, the Prime Minister said;

“हिमाचल प्रदेश के किन्नौर में भूस्खलन से हुआ हादसा अत्यंत दुखद है। इसमें जान गंवाने वाले लोगों के परिजनों के प्रति मेरी हार्दिक संवेदनाएं। दुर्घटना में घायल हुए लोगों के इलाज की पूरी व्यवस्था की जा रही है। मैं उनके शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने की कामना करता हूं: PM @narendramodi
