NEXT HEARING IN THE CASE OF DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS AGAINST AGRICULTURE MINISTER OF UTTARAKHAND TO BE HEARD IN VIGILANCE COURT IN 19 th by a new judge !
The much controversial case of the agriculture minister of Uttarakhand Ganesh Joshi will now be heard by the Vigilance Court of Uttarakhand on 19 th October and the new judge will hear this case as the earlier justice has been transferred reveal sources.
This much publicised case of disproportionate assets to the known sources of income against the cabinet minister of Uttarakhand Ganesh Joshi filed by a daring RTI activist of Uttarakhand and renowned advocate Vikesh Negi who was ousted from the state for a 6 months, now back home had filed a petition in the vigilance court under sections 156/3 urging thorough probe into the case regarding the minister’s accumulation of income and wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income shown as Rs.9 crores in affidavit.
The matter was heard in the Vigilance Court earlier and the honourable judge after being convinced about the alleged corruption committed, wrote to the government to accord, the court permission, to prosecute the minister.
The last date for the Cabinet Committee was given as 8 th October. Though the cabinet committee meeting was held but nothing fruitful came out in this meeting.
But when the pressure mounted through media and opposition political parties the government of Uttarakhand directed the RTI activist and advocate Vikesh Negi to submit all the relevant charges and documents in support of the case against the minister to them and if they feel convinced they will submit the necessary permission failing which the government will consider the case as null and void.
To this the RTI activist Vikesh Negi said that since the case is already in the honourable vigilance court and thus subjudice , how can he give any documents to the government except to the court ?
Anyways the cabinet committee has till date allegedly not given any permission to the vigilance court to pursue the prosecution against the minister reveals news report of “You tube video Baramasa”. The case will now be heard on 19 th by another judge as the earlier judge has been transferred said the news report.
Meanwhile the papers of Uttarakhand are full of news pertaining to land , thuk (Spitting) and love jihads to divert the attention of the people of the state from core issues of significance affecting the common people.
It may be recalled that a senior officer of Horticulture Department Dr.Baveja too was arrested few months ago after the vigilance and CBI probe was conducted against him with several appeals and written complaints of massive corruption by RTI activists and social activists going un responded by the Agriculture minister Ganesh Joshi under whose ministry the horticulture department comes. One RTI social activist had to undertake several days of hunger strike demanding the corrupt officer’s arrest and CBI probe into his corrupt activities with Political activist Gopal Upreti approaching the court to seek justice.
