Nationalist Regional Party burnt the effigy of the government on hanging the reservation bill

Angered by the hanging of the Reservation Bill by the Select Committee, women workers of the Nationalist Regional Party burnt the effigy of the government in front of the Assembly building in Dehradun.
National President of Nationalist Regional Party, Shivprasad Semwal said that by extending the tenure of the Assembly Select Committee formed to consider the agitating reservation, it is clear that the state government is doing politics on this issue.

Sulochana Eishtwal alleged that it seems that the BJP agitators want to take the question of reservation to the Lok Sabha elections. So that it can benefit in the Lok Sabha elections. It is clear from this that the aim of the government is not to respect the agitator but to get votes.

Uttarakhand agitator Sushila Patwal said that the government is postponing the legitimate rights of the agitators on one pretext or the other. The bill was first delayed, leaving many loopholes in it, it was referred to a select committee and put on the back burner. Now on some pretext or the other the committee report is being delayed.

Senior leader of Nationalist Regional Party Manorama Chamoli also expressed her anger on Congress. He said that information and invitation for the meeting was sent to the opposition MLAs present in the committee and the opposition MLAs had also given their confirmation for coming to this important meeting of the Select Committee, but at the last moment the opposition MLAs left the committee. By not attending the meeting, it has been shown that he is not at all sensitive towards the issues of the agitators of the state.
He is not in any way with the state agitators and their relatives.

Warning of mass movement

Angered by the delay in passing the reservation bill, the Nationalist Regional Party expressed its anger that earlier too the government had kept the reservation bill of the agitators hanging in the Raj Bhavan for 7 to 8 years. After continuously raising their voice, this bill was passed in the last Legislative Assembly. But the government has again handed it over to the Select Committee and the Select Committee has postponed this bill for 2 months. He has expressed apprehension that the condition of this bill will also be like that of the Lokayukta Bill, hence the agitators are burning the effigy of the government in protest against it.

The party warned that if the government does not pass the reservation bill soon, the party will launch a massive agitation for it.
