The mother of Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi breathed her last in Italy. This information was given by the Congress general secretary, incharge of media and communication Dr. Jai Ram Ramesh in a tweet. He tweeted : Smt Sonia Gandhi’s mother. Mrs Paila Maino passed away at her home in Italy on Saturday, the 27 th August, 2022. The funeral took place yesterday.
Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were abroad in connection with Sonia’s treatment and according to reports they visited Italy to bid final adieu to her. In another tweet of Congress it was reported that the Congress family expresses it’s deepest condolences on the sad demise of Mrs Paola Maino, Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s mother.
