Mobile, camera banned inside Kedarnath temple after a video of a woman flying currency notes on Shiv Ling went viral in social media
It seems that the social media exposures are mending the system and compelling the Uttarakhand administration including its police to take cognisance of wrongs and then take decision to stop such illegal happenings. Recently when a video of two owners of mules at Kedarnath training route were shown forcibly feeding a mule with weed stuffed cigarette which went viral in social media the police came into active mode and arrested one of the owners of Sonprayag under serious act of Cruelty against voiceless creatures. Similarly today the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee which is already under a controversy of Gold fitted inside the Garbh Grah of Kedarnath portal donated by a Mumbai businessmen few months ago, has after taking a sui motto cognisance of a video showing a pilgrim women flying several currency notes on the pious Shiv Ling inside the golden plated Garbh Grah , going viral in social media taken a formal decision to ban mobiles and cameras inside the Garbgrah of Kedarnath temple including forbidding taking pictures. According to the new rule no pilgrim would be allowed with mobile phone or camera including the electronic gadget inside the ” GARBH GRAH”, and if anyone is found carrying these items inside the Garbh Grah while clicking pictures or video they’ll be punished and fined heavily including confiscation of the mobile, camera etc. It may be recalled that social media these days is playing a very vital role in exposing various happenings particularly illegal one’s later on going viral in social media, then becoming news compelling the law enforcing agencies and administration in Uttarakhand taking up taking stern actions against the defaulters or coming out with a new law.
