MINING MAFIA AT BAAJPUR, HALDWANI FORCIBLY TAKE THEIR IMPOUNDED DUMPER ATTACKING THE HOME GUARDS. FIR LODGED

Mining, illegal and legal in Uttarakhand is considered to be the biggest source of income for politicians allegedly connected with those in power and law, enforcing agencies. There have been reports that people with high connections in the ruling political dispensation in Uttarakhand are in Mining business minting crores of rupees and under the guide of doing legal mining extracting more than legally allowed quantity of natural resources from lakes, rivers and mines. Majority of the politicians or relatives, near and dear ones of politicians are the alleged owners of these ” MINING PATTAS”, with alleged links to ” Bahubalies”, of the area who are least bothered for the law of the land. In several cases these miners attack the revenue officials and police discouraging them to take any concrete legal action against them or impound their trucks, dumper or equipments. During the previous chief ministerial tenure of the present CM Pushkar Singh Dhami one of his staff members have written a letter to one of the police post heads urging him to release the impounded trucks of such ” Khan Mafias”, creating quite a controversy in Uttarakhand newspapers and the new channels. How uncaring is the Mining mafia of Bajpur, Haldwani, Uttarakhand can be gauged from the fact that a Tehsildar has impounded a dumper with illegal mining excavation material but the driver of the dumper ran away in the cane field with the keys of the dumper. The Tehsildar, a mere spectator had no option but to deploy two home guards on the impounded dumper on the way for the whole night. After some time when the Tehsildar left for his home, the mining mafia along with his goons returned on the scene at 11.00 in the night and abused the home guards literally overpowering them and taking away the impounded Dumper. One of the home guards who resisted their attempts was literally pushed from the running dumper on the highway. The demoralized home guards employees have no option but to lodge their complaint/ FIR on Tuesday at Baajpur, Doraha police post . On Tuesday the Tehsildar Ashish Kumar Bhatt was on duty who found the dumper with the illegal excavated material on the way. He impounded the dumper but the driver ran away with the keys in the fields. The Tehsildar had no option but to deploy two of his home guards on the impounded dumper. During the night the mining mafia with his gang equipped with weapons threatened and quarreled with the guards pushing one of them from the running dumper on the highway, taking the dumper forcibly. The police post in charge Naresh Chauhan has registered the FIR against the mafia under various sections and are investigating the case. The mining mafia and his goons are absconding.
