Men’s Commission NGO successfully organised Mental Health Awareness Summit on International Men’s Day

New Delhi, November 19, 2025 – On the occasion of International Men’s Day, Purush Aayog NGO successfully organised Mental Health Awareness Summit at Press Club of India.

The event aimed to draw society’s attention to men’s mental health—a topic that is often neglected, given that amid pressure, expectations, and responsibilities, men too face serious mental challenges.

The summit was attended by prominent experts from across the country:

Dr. Dhruv Chauhan, National Spokesperson – IMA JDN

Dr. Mamta Sood, Professor, Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS

Dr. Nisha Khanna, Psychologist, Marriage and Family Counselor

Ms. Barkha Trehan, Chairperson, Men’s Commission NGO

All speakers emphasized that mental health shouldn’t be viewed with shame, fear, or social taboo. Problems like stress, anxiety, and depression are just as serious for men, and it’s crucial to seek help early.

Speaking at the event, Barkha Trehan said, “Men feel pain, but there is no platform to express it.

Men consistently ignore red flags, and husband suicides are three times more likely than wives to be under immense pressure.

He appealed to men not to suppress their emotions, Speak Up, Man!
The summit concluded with the message that it is society’s collective responsibility to acknowledge and support men’s mental health needs.
