Memorandum submitted to SDM by affected one thousand residents of Joshimath who ‘ve not been rehabilitated even after 3 years living in relief camps in awful condition


The highly affected residents of Joshimath under the leadership of Comrade Atul Sati who had been incessantly fighting for their rights since the last more than three years have submitted a detailed memorandum to the SDM Joshimath requesting him to redress all their earlier demands of total rehabilitation and allotment of alternate lands, houses and permission to build them as about one thousand houses have already developed several cracks not feasible to live in as a result they are still compelled to live in awful circumstances in the relief camps or in houses with several cracks.
It may be recalled that hundreds of affected residents of Joshimath after massive subsidence in over one thousand houses were assured by the Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami , Mahendra Bhatt BJP chief, MP and the local senior officers including the District Magistrate and the concerned SDMs to allot them alternate lands,houses and necessary monetary compensation but after more than three years having elapsed and number of rhetorical assurances except the negligible few , majority of the affected residents are still sufferring for want of full financial compensation S, lands and houses.
According to the leader of the Joshimath affected residents Atul Sati who himself is the sufferer have submitted a one and a half page memorandum signed by several victims to the concerned SDM urging to immediately rehabilitate the affected residents and sanction them the full amount of financial compensation including houses or permission to build Portal cabin houses to lead a comfortable lives failing which they will be compelled to resort to more affective demonstrations and Dharna after fifteen days the responsibility for which shall be solely of the administration said ATUL Sati.
