Massive landslide has fallen on the Kotdwar Satpuli- Pauri road at GUMKHAL, near Kulhaad turn – completely blocking the road which is exclusively used by thousands of commuters from Delhi, Kotdwar, Lansdowne etc for proceeding towards Satpuli and Pauri, Garhwal.
Majority of the buses, cars, Max Taxis and motorbikes ply on this route especially during the last two days of the week Saturdays and Sundays.
Being close to Delhi, majority of the tourists go to Pauri , Gumkhal , Lansdowne hill station on weekends with their families and friends and the blockage of the Road at GUMKHAL on Kotdwar Pauri – Satpuli road has created lot of problems for the people who are now stranded.
The major stretch from Gumkhal to Satpuli which is being widened has become slippery during the monsoon due to water flowing from top mountains with stones falling down and after this landslide at GUMKHAL the entire road has been blocked extremely risky even to walk in them.
Those heading from Kotdwar to Satpuli or Pauri Garhwal via Gumkhal are advised to give up their visit to Garhwal hills during the monsoons as there are chances of accidents and therefore risk to lives.
