Massive fire in Brahmaputra appartment at Bishamardass Marg where live Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs
A massive fire broke out in Brahmaputra appartments, the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MP flats opposite Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia hospital near North Block MPs flats and Talkatora Raad this afternoon at 1.22 PM. The fire was so massive that it almost burnt several magnificent MP flats and entire house furniture and articles including important items giving a look of a completely devastated building. According to the latest news the first call about the fire was recieved by the Barakhamba Fire Brigade office at 1 . 22 PM. After acknowledging the information twelve fire tenders were immediately sent to the burning spot who took about one hour to extinguish the fire though the fire fighters had a very hard time extinguishing the massive fire that had ferociously spread. Though the damage has been massive in several flats with almost everything having been burnt but thankfully there is no injury to anyone nor any fatality. The reason behind the fire has not been ascertained till yet. However, eyewitnesses revealed that the fire hydrant in the apartment was not functional and that there was no water in the tank and in pipelines. “We checked the fire extinguishing facility after spotting the fire, but there was no water. The fire hydrant was not working,” a resident told NDTV.
