Mass fast by AAP leaders and activists at Jantar Mantar against Kejrival’s arrest

The senior leaders , MPs , MLAs, ministers , office bearers and activists of Aam Admi Party today sat on one day fast in protest against the arrest of their national convenor and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival to rouse public opinion nationally during the ongoing national elections especially when the present political ruling dispensation has by arresting him obstructed the charismatic leader of AAP from campaigning in Delhi as well as nationally. AAP is an important part of Indian National Inclusive Developmental Alliance. Prominent among those sitting on fast in support of their leader in protest and to also express their solidarity with him are recently released AAP vociferous leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, ministers in Delhi government Aatishi Bharadwaj, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai n others, the contesting AAP candidates like Mahabal Mishra, Somnath Bharti, Kuldeep Kumar, Sahi Ram Pahalwan , MLA Durgesh Pathak n several others. Good number of AAP activists and leaders participated in this mass event of fast by AAP holding postcards demanding the release of their leader Arvind Kejrival with his picture behind bars. In Delhi the INDI Alliance candidates are contesting on all the seven parliamentary seats with AAP on four and Congress on three seats. According to news analysts after the arrest of Arvind Kejrival a sympathy wave is flowing in the favour of AAP and Congress candidates in Delhi with INDIA candidates likely to win on majority of seats. The BJP had been winning on all the seven constituencies since 2024 but this time the anti incumbency against the sitting Lok Sabha candidates was tremendous. However the BJP had changed it candidates in majority of seats here with BJP heavy weight Dr.Harshwardhan not getting tickets and Gautam Gambhir as well as former MP Bidhuri sidelined altogether. After Arvind Kejrival’s arrest and earlier the arrest of Sanjay Singh, Manish Sisodia etc the sympathy wave seems to be flowing in Delhi as majority of the voters of lower echelons of the society are badly annoyed with the BJP. Expressing his views on the fast event of his party the AAP leader and minister in Delhi government Gopal Rai said that people across the country and Delhi are observing the mass fast to express solidarity with their leader. He said ever since their leader n Arvind Kejrival was arrestrd there is tremendous anger and resentment among the Delhites and countrymen with people protesting everywhere and courting arrests. The finance minister in Delhi government Atishi Said that countrymen see Kejrival not as the Delhi CM but their brother and wanted him to be released soon. Criticizing the government at the centre Atishi said that not a single proof about him having been taken a single pie have not been found against st Kejriwal which clearly indicates that the CBI, IT and ED sre being misused against the leaders of opposition to meet their vested political ends and to take political vendetta. She asked if their is no proof against Kejrival and money trail found against Sarat Reddy having given massive money to BJP through Electoral bonds the case should be registered against the BJP chief forthwith said Atishi in a roaring voice. The AAP’s X handle has posted pictures of collective fasts against Kejrival’s arrest in Delhi, Mumbai,Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Fatehpur Sahib. It may be recalled that Arvind Kejrival was arrested last month and was remanded to 15 days judicial custody after being in ED’d custody for eleven days. He has been accused in a liquor scam of the new excise liquor policy having been charged for allegedly taking Rs 100 crores as bribe to benefit the South Lobby . The daughter of the former Telangana CM Mrs KAVITA as also been arrested and is in Tihar Jail. The vociferous AAP Rajya Sabha MP who was also behind bars since the last six months and released few days ago addressed several meetings after he received a rousing welcome by thousands of AAP leaders and activists. He openly challenged prime minister Narendra Modi saying that the people of the country are well aware of the politically vindictive actions of the government who is misusing the ED, CBI and IT to harrass and arrest its political rivals on fabricated and fictitious grounds
